CNN: Where Propaganda IS the News

** CNN Crashes- Burns **

Blitzer: “This is not propaganda (terrorist snuff film)… “When you put it in context (the terrorist snuff film), that’s what news is…”

CNN reached a new low for mainstream news yesterday when they announced that “terrorist propaganda is now considered news” on this influential channel.

Lynn Cheney 1, Wolf Blitzer 0

HotAir has the video.
CNN has the whole video posted. It took Wolf all of 34 seconds to break away from the new book and start in on the real reason they lured Lynn Cheney into their studio.
** The video is just incredible! It ought to be chopped up and made into RNC commercials! **

During the “book” interview CNN admitted first that the snuff tape they aired was news.

One minute later CNN admits the snuff tape was propaganda but that they chose to air it anyway!

Got that…
Enemy propaganda = News

Unbelievable!
Here’s the transcript:

L. CHENEY: Well, all right, Wolf. I’m here to talk about my book, but if you want to talk about distortion …

BLITZER: We’ll talk about your book.

L. CHENEY: Well, right, but what is CNN doing running terrorist tape of terrorists shooting Americans? I mean, I thought Duncan Hunter ask you a very good question and you didn’t answer it. Do you want us to win?

BLITZER: The answer, of course, is we want the United States to win. We are Americans. There’s no doubt about that. Do you think we want terrorists to win?

L. CHENEY: Then why are you running terrorist propaganda?

BLITZER: With all due respect — with all due respect, this is not terrorist propaganda.

L. CHENEY: Oh, Wolf.

BLITZER: This is reporting the news which is what we do. We’re not partisan.

L. CHENEY: Where did you get the film?

BLITZER: We got the film — look, this is an issue that has been widely discussed. This is an issue that we have reported on extensively. We make no apologies for showing that. That was a very carefully considered decision, why we did that, and I think — and I think — that if you’re …

L. CHENEY: Well, I think it’s shocking.

BLITZER: …a serious journalist, you want to report the news. Sometimes the news is good, sometimes the news isn’t so good but …

L. CHENEY: But, Wolf, there’s a difference between the news and terrorist propaganda. Why do you give the terrorists the floor?

BLITZER: And if you put it in context, that’s what news is. We said it was propaganda. We didn’t distort where we got it. We didn’t distort anything about it. We gave it the context.

CNN also embarrassed itself by luring the Vice President’s wife Lynn Cheney into their studios and ambushed her with the latest democratic lies when she thought she was going to give a book review!

Lynn Cheney was forced to point out for CNN the anti-American/anti-war bias of the channel and break down the dishonest talking points in the democratic defense of senatorial candidate, James Webb and his pornographic writings.
Hugh Hewitt reports:

Incredibly Blitzer drags the Second Lady of the United States into the dust-up over the novels of James Webb, airing Webb’s defense which wrongly drew a comparison between his novels and Lynne Cheney’s novel. Blitzer even goes so far as to read the DNC talking points to Cheney, who had been booked to discuss her new children’s book, The 50 States. Cheney’s outrage is obvious, as is Blitzer’s recognition that he had crossed a line which he ought not to have crossed.

Bravo to Mrs. Cheney for chucking it back at Blitzer.

The OC Chronicle breaks down the democratic talking points; something CNN was unwilling and unable to do.

I wish Lynn Cheney wrote more books! She is incredible!
