A Hawk of a Different Color
Recently, John Murtha was honored by Code Pink Co-founder Gael Murphy.
Code Pink is the group that mocked wounded soldiers during their weekly protests at Walter Reid Army Medical Center and defended their actions.
CODEPINK co-founder Gael Murphy and DC coordinator Allison Yorra met with Congressman Murtha to thank him for his courageous stand on Iraq.
Murtha was awarded his Pink Badge of Courage!
John Murtha, “Pink Hawk”, was presented with a pink badge of courage and pink flowers sent by CODEPINK members nationwide. Rep Murtha was very appreciative of these gestures and requested that we ask legislators to support H.J Res 73 (Murtha’s resolution).

Murtha joined the “Out of Iraq” town hall meetings that were held this past weekend across the country. Representative Murtha was a distinguished speaker at one of the meetings as was Representative Moran and Representative Filner. Several other far left personalities attended the meetings including Cliff Kindy, (Christian Peacemaker Teams), Kevin Zeese, (peace activist, Democracy Rising) and Cindy Sheehan (who is working on her memoirs!).
National Sponsors included Several Far Left Groups: Backbone Campaign, Progressive Democrats of America, After Downing Street, Democracy Cell Project, Cities for Peace, MilitaryFreeZone, Operation Ceasefire, Montgomery County Progressive Alliance, United for Peace and Justice, U.S. Tour of Duty, Hip Hop Caucus, Democracy Rising, World Can’t Wait, Global Exchange, WakeUpLaughing.com, Gold Star Families for Peace, Peace Majority Report, Bring Them Home Campaign, United Progressives for Democracy, 20 20 Vision, Peace Action, America in Solidarity, CODE PINK and others.
Code Pink is planning to protest Nancy Pelosi on January 14th because she refuses to move the party towards the Murtha Amendment.
And, Code Pink DC is organizing an Iraqi children’s shoe drive. Not to send to children in Iraq but to sent a pair to each Senator in Congress to represent dead Iraqi children. How twisted!… and ignorant considering there were more Iraqis dying in Saddam’s Iraq than there are today in the recovering country.
