SADDAM HUSSEIN’S LONG TIME FRIEND, RAMSEY CLARK SPEAKS TO THE PRESS TODAY IN IRAQ,
VIDEO HERE
The last time we saw Ramsey Clark he was preaching at the Pro-Castro Anti-War Anti-Jew rally with Cindy Sheehan in Washington D.C.
Ramsey is a long time friend of Suddam Hussein but will not be allowed to sit with the defense since paperwork was not filled out correctly:
The former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark arrived in Baghdad, airport officials said, apparently to aid in Saddam’s defense.
Clark has been advising nearly a dozen international lawyers on Saddam’s defense team. He has contended that Saddam’s rights have been violated in the legal process following his capture. But a U.S. government official close to the court said the defense team had not filed the proper paperwork to have a non-Iraqi lawyer in the courtroom.
This was not a surprise really as Ramsey has been a big fan of Saddam Hussein’s for many, many years:
The fiercely anti-war (Anti-American) Clark has met with Saddam several times over the past 15 years and was considered a friend of Saddam’s Iraq when it was hit by sanctions in 1990 for invading Kuwait.
…An embittered casualty of the ’60s, and Attorney General for the LBJ administration, Clark assumed a leftist posture after leaving the Justice Department. He became the lawyer for anti-war protestor Philip Berrigan, headed a private probe into the FBI killings of Black Panthers Fred Hampton and Mark Clark, and traveled to Vietnam to condemn the bombing.
In June 1980, with America mesmerized by the Iran hostage crisis, he joined a forum on “Crimes of America” in Tehran–the first of many such junkets. The ’80s saw him globetrotting to schmooze with any dictator who happened to be on the White House shit-list…
He has advised, among others, David Koresh, the leader of the Branch Davidian religious sect who died with 75 followers when U.S. federal agents stormed their compound in Waco, Texas in 1993.
But, the going has not been smooth for the 2,000 lawyers that stepped to the plate to defend Saddam. Earlir in the year, Ziad al-Khasawneh, Saddam’s top lawyer and the man who condones terrorist violence and uprising in Iraq, quit Saddam Hussein’s legal team. He says the Americans on the team are too controlling… Ramsey Clark?
There were rumors that the Hussein family sacked Ramsey back in August.
Ramsey will have his hands full this week. He will not be allowed to sit with the defense. The case against Saddam is strong. And, at least two of the defense lawyers have been killed in the runup to the trial.
But, today Ramsey is back in Iraq to save the Butcher of Baghdad’s life, something the Butcher took from hundreds of thousands of his own Iraqi people.
Tomorrow is the start of the Trial of the Century and Ramsey will be there in heart at least with his good old friend, Saddam.

Also today, Eight Sunni Arabs in the northern city of Kirkuk were arrested for allegedly plotting to assassinate the investigating judge who prepared the case against Saddam Hussein.
Iraqi President al Talabani attacked the abuse claims that were hurled at the current Iraqi Administration that the country’s rights abuses are as bad as they were in Saddam Hussein’s era.
And, insurgent groups approached the Talabani-led Iraqi Government today requesting negotiations.
