Death Sentence for Iranian Activist

Today comes word from Iran that another political prisoner has been sentenced to death. Mr. Mohammadi, a father of five, received his letter from authorities earlier this week. He has been incarcerated for over two years under torturous conditions. Mr. Esmaeil Mohammadi now faces imminent execution. His crime includes working with Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan.

Political Prisoner & Father of Five, Esmaeil Mohammadi, Sentenced to Death.

The Komala Party is asking the world community to help avert Mohammadi’s death sentence:

We condemn the execution sentence of Ismail Mohammadi and hereby ask all humanitarian organizations, media and all freedom lovers of the world to help avert Ismail’s death sentence and to save his life.

Use any means necessary to inform international organizations and media and put pressure on the regime of Iran to prevent this crime.

Ismail Mohammadi is the most recent political victim in Kurdistan of Iran but he most certainly will not be the last. Ismail Mohammadi has been imprisoned for more than two years by the Islamic government of Iran. He has been interrogated many times and has been mentally and physically tortured many times. A court in the city of Orumie in Iran sentenced Mr. Mohammadi to death last year. Mr. Mohammadi appealed his sentence and this time he was sentenced to death again by the Supreme Court of Iran for supporting and co-operating with Komala, which is one of the major political parties in Kurdistan.

Ismail Mohammadi was born in 1965 in the city of Bukan where he resided all his life. He was arrested in August of 2002 and has been sentenced to death through the ruling of the courts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the city of Orumie. He has been interrogated many times and has been mentally and physically tortured many times. Ismail Mohammad is 39 years old, married and he is the father of 5 children whom all are victims of inhuman actions by the government.

Hojjat Zamani, Sentenced to Death.

Earlier this month Iran’s Supreme Court upheld the death sentence against another long-time political prisoner in Iran.

Hojjat Zamani, 29 years old, has been imprisoned in the notorious Evin Prison in Tehran since the year 2000 for being a member of the main Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI).

Just to be clear… I am not endorsing any particular Political Party in Iran. I do endorse the free expression of political opinion without the threat of violence.
