HILLARY CLINTON: Email Scandal Is ‘Like Benghazi… No There, There’ (VIDEO)

Mideast Libya Militant Backlash

The nerve of this woman!
Leading Democratic Party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton dismissed concerns about the latest revelations in her private email server scandal as, ‘Like Benghazi…No there, there.’

Clinton spoke about the email scandal in a one-on-one interview with NBC News reporter Monica Alba on the campaign trail in Iowa Saturday.

Clinton’s exclusive use of a private email server housed at her New York state home to conduct official business all during her four year tenure as secretary of State has prompted an FBI investigation and the involvement of the Inspectors General of various intelligence agencies to determine whether rules regarding the handling of classified information were broken and what information was likely compromised.

Clinton presented her usual defense to Alba, but included misrepresentation of how classified information is handled.

“This doesn’t change anything about the fundamental facts. I never sent or received any email marked classified. I take classified information very seriously. And this is an inter-agency dispute uh, and it’s playing out in public and I want it resolved. I want to get things out and I want people to understand that based on what happened when it was happening in real time, uh, there was no classification marking and that’s what you have to be guided by.”

The actual guidance, acknowledged in a signed statement by Clinton when she became secretary of State is that the information involved determines classification, not whether it is not marked as classified.

Clinton said in the interview she did not originate any of the email chains, which is at odds with her statement in the same interview denying knowing what is in the twenty-two emails the State Department announced Friday have been deemed to contain top secret classified information so sensitive that it is preventing the emails from being released even in redacted form, saying she does not know which ones were being withheld. (If she doesn’t know which ones are being withheld, how can Clinton know with certainty she did not originate any of them?)

Without prompting, Clinton brought up the comparison of the email scandal to the September 11, 2012 Islamist terrorist attacks on U.S. outposts in Benghazi, Libya. The terrorist attacks killed four Americans: U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith and CIA contractors Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

It’s like Benghazi, Monica, you know, Republicans are gonna continue to attack, there’s no there there. We have seen that over and over again with independent investigations. I testified for eleven hours. I can’t stop them from running whatever campaign they want to run and making up whatever story they want to make up. So I’m just gonna stay focused on what I’m doing. Cuz I’m running for president to give people in our country, uh, the best shot they can to live up to their own God-given potential. That’s what I believe in.”

Clinton again related the email scandal to Benghazi while telling Alba that no one asks her about the email scandal on campaign rope lines.

“Because I think they’ve processed it, like Benghazi, you know. The Republicans send out people to attack me on Benghazi. People come to see me, Democrats, they don’t ask me. They’re satisfied. They know what happened. And so I understand the political to and fro. I get it. But I don’t think that is how people are making up their minds about what’s at stake in this election and they shouldn’t”

Alba spent the first half of the five-and-a-half minutes long interview on the emails. The latter part was spent on other campaign issues.
