Large Tree Uprooted by Hurricane Ida’s Winds Topples Onto Home While Woman Asleep in House – Damage Scenes Across Louisiana (VIDEO)

Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana as a monster Category 4 storm Sunday afternoon.

Four mesovortices were rotating around the outer portion of Ida’s eye.

“I don’t think I’ve seen this before with a storm over land.” NOAA scientist Dan Lindsey said.

As of Sunday evening, Hurricane Ida was downgraded to a Category 3 storm with maximum sustained winds up to 125 MPH.

Louisiana residents were told to shelter in place immediately: “Go to an interior room or a small room with no windows and stay put during this time.”

One woman didn’t seem to have a care in the world and was napping as Ida made landfall.

A large tree uprooted and toppled onto her home while she was sleeping.

The woman was not injured.
