Rep. Ilhan Omar Will Be Keynote Speaker at Fundraising Event for Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in March

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at a fundraising event for the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in March.

Rep. Omar is listed as the featured speaker at CAIR’s 4th Annual Valley Banquet in California on March 23.

The extremely controversial far-left Congresswoman has repeatedly made headlines for her antisemitic remarks.

Omar will be sharing the stage with Hassan Shibly, the executive director of CAIR Florida, who believes that Hezbollah and Hamas are not terrorist organizations and despises gay people.

Though Omar recently complained about AIPAC’s lobbying, she is now helping to raise money for another lobbying group — one that was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist financing case in U.S. history, Conservative Review notes. Tables at the CAIR event are $500.

CR also pointed out that the director of CAIR-Los Angeles is Hussam Ayloush, who suggested that the US is “partly responsible” for the San Bernardino terrorist attacks. This seems to be a sentiment Omar could relate to, as she previously made excuses for a 2013 terrorist attack, claiming the attack which left 71 people dead and over 200 wounded was “a reaction” to “our involvement in other people’s affairs.”

Additionally, as a Minnesota state representative, Omar asked a judge to show leniency for a group of men who were convicted of trying to join ISIS.

“The best deterrent to fanaticism is a system of compassion,” Omar wrote in a letter to the judge presiding over the case. “We must alter our attitude and approach; if we truly want to effect change, we should refocus our efforts on inclusion and rehabilitation.”

One of the men she had asked for compassion for had told the judge, “I was not going there to pass out medical kits or food. I was going strictly to fight and kill on behalf of the Islamic State.”

“Omar has been in office less than two months and is surrounded by a number of controversies. The freshman congresswoman defended anti-Israeli statements, such as ones invoking Allah to expose Israel’s “evil doings,” and she has come out in favor of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which seeks to punish the nation-state of Israel by economically depriving the country for its alleged mistreatment of Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip and West Bank,” the Daily Caller reports.

As we reported last week, the radical Somalia-born congresswoman also wants to defund Immigration and Customs Enforcement — as well as the Department of Homeland Security.
