Nancy Pelosi: No Money for Border Wall Allowed in Budget Negotiations

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told reporters Thursday morning she will not allow any money for building a border wall in the negotiations with Republicans and the Trump administration on funding the government for the rest of the fiscal year.

Video in two parts:

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) responded to Pelosi, challenging House Democrats to defy her, “Are the 60+ Democrats who promised their constituents that they’d negotiate on a physical barrier as part of border security once the government reopened going to stand up to Nancy Pelosi? Or will they cave to her open borders agenda?”

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) also weighed in on Pelosi, “Amazing. Hardly 24 hours in to conference talks and Speaker Pelosi announces “no wall money” in a bill. This is a total and open refusal to even negotiate on something fundamental to a secure border. Stop pretending Democrats are negotiating. Democrats aren’t even pretending.”
