Investigators Zero In On John Brennan’s Role In Steele Dossier As Ex-Secret Service Agent Warns Obama CIA Chief Is In ‘World of Trouble’

A new report by the Daily Caller says House investigators have begun to zero in on former CIA chief John Brennan’s role in the anti-Trump dossier authored by ex-British spy agent Christopher Steele.

Daily Caller reports:

A book published in March offered a startling but little-noticed revelation about former CIA Director John Brennan. According to “Russian Roulette,” Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid believed Brennan was using him as a conduit to publicize possible links between Trump campaign associates and the Russian government.

Brennan’s contacts with Reid — and other activities during the 2016 presidential campaign — are of “significant” interest to congressional investigators trying to figure out the ex-spy’s early role in the Russia investigation, The Daily Caller News Foundation is told.

“By his own account, Brennan played a prominent role in starting the investigation of Trump’s team,” a congressional source with direct knowledge of the House of Representatives’ Russia investigations tells TheDCNF.

“Investigators in Congress suspect there are important details about his role that he hasn’t revealed, and we’re trying to get to the bottom of it.”

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino has warned Brennan is in a “world of trouble right now,” over his testimony on the dubious Steele dossier.

Newsmax reports:

“My sources on this are telling me John Brennan is in a world of trouble right now,” Bongino told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” program.

“Back in August of 2016 he gives a private briefing to Sen. Harry Reid, Democrat, of course. He gives that briefing to Reid. Reid fires off a letter to the FBI. In that letter is information that clearly came from the dossier.”

That means that at that point, Brennan was aware of the dossier, but in May of 2017, under oath, he denied knowing who commissioned it, said Bongino, a frequent Fox News commentator and owner of “The Dan Bongino Show” podcast.

“The CIA has a central role in the verification of foreign assets and information we get from foreign assets,” Bongino said. “It is not plausibly deniable that John Brennan did not know who commissioned that dossier he is in a world of trouble because he raised his right hand and he said the exact opposite.”

As The Gateway Pundit’s Joe Hoft reported, the former Obama CIA Director previously stated on Meet the Press that he believes that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Nunes abused his office by releasing the FISA memo on Friday. Brennan also said that the dossier did not play any role whatsoever in early intelligence assessments.

House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes is investigating whether Brennan played a role in disseminating the Steele dossier, zeroing in on claims the former Obama official may have perjured himself in a public testimony about the document.
