Dossier Author Christopher Steele Claims Russia Blocked Mitt Romney as Secretary of State

Former British spy and author of the Hillary-funded phony Russia dossier, Christopher Steele is back in the headlines this week.

Steele, who is being accused of lying to the FBI claims he has another memo based on one source that a “senior Russian official” persuaded President Trump to walk away from Mitt Romney as his choice for Secretary of State.

The New Yorker reports Christopher Steele has an unpublished memo with claims the Russians told Trump to pass up Mitt Romney as his choice for Secretary of State:

One subject that Steele is believed to have discussed with Mueller’s investigators is a memo that he wrote in late November, 2016, after his contract with Fusion had ended. This memo, which did not surface publicly with the others, is shorter than the rest, and is based on one source, described as “a senior Russian official.” The official said that he was merely relaying talk circulating in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but what he’d heard was astonishing: people were saying that the Kremlin had intervened to block Trump’s initial choice for Secretary of State, Mitt Romney. (During Romney’s run for the White House in 2012, he was notably hawkish on Russia, calling it the single greatest threat to the U.S.) The memo said that the Kremlin, through unspecified channels, had asked Trump to appoint someone who would be prepared to lift Ukraine-related sanctions, and who would coöperate on security issues of interest to Russia, such as the conflict in Syria. If what the source heard was true, then a foreign power was exercising pivotal influence over U.S. foreign policy—and an incoming President.

On January 5th, Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) sent a letter to Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding they investigate if Christopher Steele lied to federal authorities.

The letter was the first criminal referral from Congress to the DOJ in this case.

In early February, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released a “much-less redacted,” version of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s criminal referral of dossier author Christopher Steele.

According to the Senate Judiciary criminal referral, Steele lied to the FBI about his contacts with the media such as Yahoo News and Mother Jones. Steele previously told the FBI that he had not spoken to the media.

Grassley reveals the FBI KNEW Steele lied about his contact with media outlets, yet they DID NOT disclose this very pertinent information to the FISA court.

Also, a footnote in the unredacted Grassley memo states the FBI failed to provide the Committee with 1023’s [FBI form to document meetings with sources] documenting Steele’s statements to the FBI so the Committee had to rely on the accuracy of the FBI’s representation to the FISC regarding those statements.

Christopher Steele is not a reliable witness. The only foreign collusion we have seen during the presidential election was between Hillary’s camp and the Russians through Steele.

Bernie Sanders also colluded with the Australian Labor Party and his campaign was fined over $14,000.

Why isn’t Mueller hunting down Hillary and Bernie for ‘collusion’?
