Brother of JROTC Member Killed in Parkland Blasts Activist Emma Gonzalez, ‘She DID NOT and WOULD NOT support’ Your Anti-2A Agenda

The brother of 14-year-old Alaina Petty, a U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) member who was one of the 17 students killed in the Parkland shooting, took to Twitter on Saturday to blast a student who skyrocketed to fame following the shooting for using his sister’s name to push her anti-gun agenda.

The outraged brother, Patrick Petty, is also a student at Stoneman Douglas High School and proudly proclaims that he is a conservative in his Twitter bio.

In a tweet to the biggest celebrity to be born from the tragedy, Emma Gonzalez, Petty asked her to stop using his sister’s memory to push her agenda — noting that she “DID NOT and WOULD NOT support it.”

In response to the tweet, Petty received vile and disgusting backlash from Democrats.

“I have no idea who you lost, but if she was not a supporter of sensible gun control. shame on you and her. Having said that, if only you 2A yahoos were being killed, there would be no need for Miss Gonzalez’s movement. Unfortunately, it’s innocents who are paying w/their lives,” a user named @SimonSaysBooHoo wrote to the grieving teenager.

Alaina was a brave leader who was dedicated to making her community better and helping those who were in need. Following Hurricane Irma, the 14-year-old rushed to volunteer to clean up and help people to rebuild.

“Alaina loved to serve,” the statement from her family in the Latter-day Saints publication LDSLiving read. “She served her community through her participation in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas JROTC program and her countless hours of service as a volunteer for the ‘Helping Hands’ program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alaina was part of hundreds of volunteers that rushed to the most heavily impacted areas of Florida to clean up and help rebuild the lives of those devastated by Hurricane Irma. Her selfless service brought peace and joy to those that had lost everything during the storm. While we will not have the opportunity to watch her grow up and become the amazing woman we know she would become, we are keeping an eternal perspective. We are grateful for the knowledge that Alaina is a part of our eternal family and that we will reunite with her. This knowledge and unabiding faith in our Heavenly Father’s plan gives us comfort during this difficult time.”

Gonzalez has not yet responded to Petty. She is likely too busy hanging out with celebrities and speaking to the media to bother with those whose loved ones she is using to build her brand.

Earlier in the day, it was revealed that the brother of shooting victim Meadow Pollack was disinvited from speaking at the #MarchForOurLives. His family supports the Second Amendment and has been pushing for securing our schools and taking threats seriously.
