Nationally-syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh told his millions of listeners this week that he believes the Justice Department Inspector General’s report on the FBI’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe will blow special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe to “smithereens.”
Rush Limbaugh told his listeners Wednesday:
“Well, there is a theory out there that holds that the inspector general has a dynamite report coming that’s gonna blow this whole thing to smithereens, and these leaks are a way of setting us up — the American people up — for what is coming. So that when it does report, it’s not a series of, “My God, I didn’t know that,” that it’s gonna confirm what these little leaks have informed us week after week after week. Now, I can’t say that I’m familiar with inspectors general and how they operate and all that, so I can only share with you that particular theory.
But since I’m so unaccustomed to leaks benefiting us, I’m so unaccustomed to inspectors general working for us, that, I’m sorry, I’m just automatically suspicious. I’m not characterizing this in any way. I just… These leaks are not making these people look good in any way or stretch the imagination. They are illustrating how this investigation is corrupted. The discovery of text messages sent by Trump-hating FBI Peter Strzok has left a permanent stain on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s already tainted Russia investigation, while raising serious question about political bias tainting the Clinton email probe.
In a letter sent on Wednesday to Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI), Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz revealed new details about the discovery of the anti-Trump texts that will be detailed in the forthcoming “dynamite,” reported discussed by Limbaugh.

Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department watchdog, said that his office obtained the text messages from the FBI on July 20. A week later, he met with Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to inform them of the politically-charged texts. […]
Horowitz, writing to Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, said that his office obtained the Strzok texts after asking the FBI to produce communications from bureau-issued phones for a select group of employees who worked on the Clinton email probe. […]
“After finding a number of politically-oriented text messages between Page and Strzok, the OIG sought from the FBI all text messages between Strzok and Page from their FBI-issued phones through November 30, 2016, which covered the entire period of the Clinton e-mail server investigation,” Horowitz revealed to both Grassley and Johnson.
Strzok was removed from Mueller’s witch hunt after it was discovered he was sending anti-Trump text messages to his mistress FBI lawyer Lisa Page.
Let’s not forget Comey’s role in the Clinton email probe, who we learned this week made more edits to the former Secretary of State’s draft statement than previously known. “The edits also showed that references to specific potential violations of statutes on “gross negligence” of classified information and “misdemeanor handling” were removed,” reports Fox News.
The original draft also included the conclusion that it was “reasonably likely” that “hostile actors” accessed Clinton’s private email account. The edited draft was later changed to reflect that it was only “possible,” such scenario occurred.
Reporter Sara Carter told Fox News host Sean Hannity last week that the Inspector General’s report will be released sometime this month or in early January.
