A man has been arrested after he allegedly attacked police with a sword outside Buckingham Palace.
Two police officers suffered minor injuries as they detained the man.
A witness claimed on Twitter that the attacker was armed with a sword. Other witnesses said it may have been a machete.
The attack occurred while the Queen was at Balmoral Castle, her residence in Scotland.
A Met Police spokesman said on Twitter: “Officers are on scene at the Mall o/s Buckingham Palace. A man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and assault on police.
