HYPOCRISY: MSM Freaks Out Over Senate Press Access Restrictions But Mocked Gateway Pundit and Breitbart over Access

This morning, MSM was in an uproar over alleged restrictions on reporters who wonder the halls of the Capitol looking for interviews. Journalist Kasie Hunt was quick to express her outrage on Twitter in a string of rambling Tweets:

Other liberal journalists were quick to chime in:

The ACLU was quick to take the side of these reports and issued the following statement:

Preventing the press from informing the public about the workings of their own government goes against the core values of our democracy. For decades, the Capitol building has been open for recorded interviews, which provide a critical window into the legislative process.

The only problem with this is that it comes on the heels of leftist reporters celebrating after the Gateway Pundit was denied access by the MSM-run Senate Periodical Gallery board.

So all of the sudden, these journalists AND the ACLU have a problem with restricted access (still full access, just restrictions on filming in the Capitol without permission) – but at the same time – these are the same people who are working to keep Conservative press from being granted ANY ACCESS WHAT SO EVER. Process that for a second.

As previously reported by the Gateway Pundit:

We went into the hearing on Monday with good faith and with the expectation that we would be treated fairly and that the committee would listen to our arguments.

But we were told by Lloyd Grove at The Daily Beast that the committee rejected our appeal the minute we left the room.

The committee could not block our access due to our funding like they did with other news organizations.  They accused us not reporting enough original content. Have they even read their own websites?

Our readers would take offense to that.
The Gateway Pundit has over 15 million page views a month.
Has over 14 million unique visits.
The Gateway Pundit is listed in the top 10 of most commented websites,
The Gateway Pundit breaks national stories that are regularly cited by The Drudge Report and FOX News.
The committee’s arguments just don’t hold water.

Update:Tonight when I saw the committee had released their decision to the Daily Beast and has yet to contact us I was furious.
This shows a level of dysfunction and maliciousness that shocked us.

I spoke with our attorney tonight and we are going to discuss legal options and next steps in the coming hours.
