DHS Announces New Office for Victims of Illegal Immigrants: ‘These Victims Are Unique’

John Kelly, the Homeland Security Secretary, announced Wednesday that the U.S. is officially launching the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s “office for victims of illegal immigrant crime”.

DHS also launching a program designed to help track the custody status of “violent, illegal perpetrators”.

Fox News reports:

ICE’s Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office (VOICE) was created in response to President Trump’s executive order to enhance public safety, which directed the Department of Homeland Security to create an office to support victims of crimes committed by criminal aliens.

. . .

Kelly outlined objectives of VOICE, including a “victim-centered approach” to support victims and their families, along with promoting awareness of available services to crime victims, such as the new automated service, DHS-Victim Information and Notification Exchange, which was created to help victims track the immigration custody status of those illegal alien perpetrators of crime.

Secretary Kelly is quoted as having said:

All crime is terrible, but these victims are unique — and often too ignored . . . They are casualties of crimes that should never have taken place — because the people who victimized them often times should not have been in the country in the first place.

Once again, President Trump is keeping another campaign promise – he’s giving a voice to those who have been impacted by the crimes of the illegals who flood into our country.
