Donald Trump broke the record for most most by a Republican candidate.
Trump has over 62 million votes so far and votes are still being counted.
After updates from counties in Pennsylvania, Trump has officially crossed the natl popular vote record for Republicans set by George W Bush.

Trump also shattered the record for most votes by a Republican primary candidate in history despite running against 16 competitors.

According to The Examiner George W. Bush set a record for the number of votes won by a Republican presidential candidate, Trump has just barely inched past him.
Trump also had more electoral votes, 306, since George H. Bush had 426 electoral votes in 2008.
