Donald Trump on Cruz Sex Scandal: National Enquirer Has “Very Good Record of Being Right” (VIDEO)
The National Enquirer published a story this week accusing Texas Senator Ted Cruz of multiple extramarital affairs.
On Friday Ted Cruz blamed Donald Trump and his former consultant Roger Stone for the National Enquirer article on his alleged extramarital affairs.
Ted Cruz Cruz told reporters in Wisconsin the story was “all lies.” Cruz then went on to blame the article on Donald Trump and his “henchmen.” Cruz argued Roger Stone has been forwarding the article today on the internet. He thinks Trump campaign is behind this story. Cruz also said the publisher of the National Enquirer is a friend of Donald Trump’s.
But these rumors did not start with Donald Trump.
And the rumors did not start with Roger Stone.
** The rumors were started by the Rubio Campaign and anti-Trump GOP elites.
Donald Trump told ABC News today his campaign had nothing to do with the Ted Cruz cheating scandal.
Trump also said the National Enquirer “have a very good record of being right.”
“I had nothing to do with it… For him to try to say that I had something to do with it, to try to put the shoe on the other foot, is disgraceful. And, by the way, he’s the one that started it… I don’t care. If the National Enquirer did a story, it was their story. It wasn’t my story. It was about Ted Cruz. I have no idea if it was right or not. They actually have a very good record of being right.”
The Hill reported:
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Sunday said he “totally” guarantees that no one tied to his campaign had anything to do with a tabloid report targeting rival Ted Cruz.
“I had nothing to do with it,” Trump said on ABC’s “This Week. “The campaign had absolutely nothing to do with it.
“He’s got a problem with The National Enquirer. I have no control over The National Enquirer. I didn’t even know about the story. I just got it last night. Somebody sent it to me over to read, so I could at least see what it said.”
Trump said it was “disgraceful” that Cruz would say the billionaire had anything to do with it.
Trump, however, refused to condemn the story of alleged extra-marital affairs.
“I don’t care. I’m really, I don’t care. The National Enquirer did a story. It was their story. It wasn’t my story. It was about Ted Cruz. I have no idea whether it was right or not. They actually have a very good record of being right.
