TODAY IN HISTORY: Racist Democrat George Wallace Sworn In As Governor of Alabama

George Wallace

53 years ago today in 1963, the racist Democrat George Wallace was sworn in as the 45th governor of Alabama.

Wallace was for segregation and said the following in his inaugural speech:

In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.

Here’s a video from the Associated Press:

Democrats like to pretend that Republicans are racists but it is the Democratic Party which has a shameful history of racism.
