German police clear two train stations due to ‘imminent threat’ of terror attack
DEVELOPING: Two Munich train stations were being evacuated Thursday due to an “imminent threat” of a terror attack just minutes before New Years celebrations were set to hit the German city.
Authorities were asking anyone in Munich to stay away from crowds and the primary Munich train station, as well as another station in the city’s Pasing neighborhood.
Munich police said on Facebook that according to “serious information, there will be an attack tonight.”
Officials were tipped off to a possible bomb attack, a police spokeswoman told ABC News.
German news agency dpa reported Thursday night that one train station had been evacuated and trains would no longer stop there.
