Then he was seen on camera driving the victim’s van to the store.
Stop Hate Crimes reported:

George Steward, a 17 year old black male, has been charged with killing a 91 year old with his bare hands and then setting the body and the victim’s house on fire. The victim is Paul Monchnik, who had been living in the same Detroit home for 65 years.

Steward allegedly broke into the house in the middle of the night. Then he killed Monchnik with his bare hands and poured gasoline on the body and surrounding area. He set the body and the house on fire. Steward is the grandson of one of Monchnik’s next door neighbors. It does not appear that Steward stole anything from the home.

Stewart was charged with multiple felonies, including first degree murder. Many online are asking why Steward has not been charged with a hate crime. The victim was most likely selected due to age and race.
