Breaking: US Troops Mobilized in South Korea As North Korea Declares Semi-War State

US troops were mobilized in South Korea today after the North Korean regime declared war.

North Korea has completed preparations for military action.

Stripes reported:

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un put his military on a state of full readiness for war and called for troops positioned along the border to be in a “semi-war state” beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, The Associated Press reported, as a response to this week’s exchange of fire between the two Koreas.

Pyongyang also set a 48-hour deadline for Seoul to stop its loudspeaker propaganda broadcasts across the Demilitarized Zone.

A North Korean military official told The AP that senior party and defense officials led by Kim met Thursday night and “reviewed and approved the final attack operation.”

He gave no details on what kind of military retaliation North Korea would see as appropriate punishment for South Korea’s shelling of its territory on Thursday, according to the AP report.

The U.S. and South Korea have raised alert levels for its troops, South Korean sources said Friday. And Seoul has warned that it will respond strongly to any further provocations, according to South Korean media reports.
