Guns Pulled on Confederate Flag Waving Families in Va., Ga; Man Wanted in Fla. Flag Rally Shooting

This week families in Virginia and Georgia were threatened by gunmen for displaying the Confederate battle flag according to police.

On Monday evening a family in Chesterfield County, Virginia was on their property waving large Confederate flags as motor vehicles passed them by on the rural divided highway they live off of.

The family says a man pulled in their driveway, got out of his SUV, pulled a gun, chambered a round and then pointed the gun at the father’s head. After mouthing off the gunman got back in his SUV and drove away without firing a shot.

The family was out the next day waving the flag on their property. A suspect was arrested Tuesday and charged with brandishing a weapon.

A family in Austell, Georgia that flew several Confederate and U.S. flags on their property says a man drove by their house twice one day this week, each time pointing a gun at their teen-aged grandson. Police advised the family to take down their flags. They complied. No suspect has been identified or arrested.

In Florida video was released by police showing a man carrying what appears to be a rifle near the time and place of a shooting that possibly targeted a rally in support of displaying the Confederate battle flag held in Ocala in Sunday. About 2,000 supporters attended the rally. No one was hit by the gunfire.

On that date, officers could locate no suspect(s), evidence or witnesses to the shooting. Luckily, there were also on injured victims. On Monday, 7/13/15, the management at Ocala Place Apartments located video of a black male subject carrying a long gun through the complex during the same time frame as shots were heard. We are looking to identify this subject.

A gun store in Elk Grove, California took down their Confederate flag last week after receiving threats to kill their employees and burn down the store.
