St. Louis Man Beaten to Death With Baseball Bat – Less Than a Week After Fatal Hammer Beating

A St. Lous man was beaten to death with a baseball bat Thursday morning on South Lindbergh near the Missouri Department of Social Services.
Police have not released the identity of the victim.

It was a family dispute.

KSDK reported:

One person was beaten to death with a baseball bat Thursday morning in south St. Louis County.

Officer Shawn McGuire with the St. Louis County Police Department says the murder happened in the 7500 block of S. Lindbergh, near the Missouri Department of Social Services’ South Lindbergh Resource Center.

McGuire says officers were called to the scene for a report of an assault in progress. The unidentified victim had been beaten with a baseball bat.

One person is in custody, but their name has not been released.

More troubling details from KMOV:

According to police, it appears the victim and suspect knew each other. The suspect reportedly entered the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education building to contact the victim and the two left the building together.

Outside, police say the suspect revealed a concealed metal bat, and began hitting the victim repeatedly in the head.

Witnesses intervened, and the suspect reportedly dropped the bat and sat next to the victim until police arrived. He was taken into custody without incident, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

This comes after 32 year-old Bosnian refugee Zemir Begic was beaten to death with hammers in South St. Louis late Saturday night.
