It did not receive much press.
Mike Brown was shot dead in Ferguson, Missouri on August 9, 2014.
Michael Brown robbed a local Ferguson convenience store shortly before his death. Then Brown smashed police officer Darren Wilson in the face, severely injuring Wilson, before he was shot dead.
After weeks of rioting and looting, and numerous reports, nearly two-in-three whites in Ferguson believe the shooting of robber Michael Brown was justified. And, more than 33% of blacks believed the shooting was justified
The Daily Beast reported:
White residents of St. Louis County, Missouri—home to Ferguson—say they believe a police officer’s shooting of Michael Brown was justified. In a poll of the area, 65 percent of African-American inhabitants thought Officer Darren Wilson acted unjustly by killing 18-year-old Brown, while 62 percent of whites found the death justified. The opinion divide showed up again when pollsters asked if Wilson should be arrested and charged. Seventy-one percent of African Americans said he should, while the same percentage of whites said he should not.
