Islamic hate preacher Anjem Choudary blamed Lee Rigby’s murder on British foreign policy.
In 2008 Choudary gloated over the Mumbai terrorist attacks.
Anjem Choudary is a British-Pakistani, who lives on social welfare funds and supports jihad. Choudary takes in a reported sum of £25,000 ($37,770) per year from the British welfare program while soldiers earn only $24,000 a year. Something is wrong with the system.
Today Anjem Choudary was arrested on suspicion of being members of a banned Islamist group.
The BBC reported:
Nine men, including the radical Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary, have been arrested in London on suspicion of being members of a banned organisation.
Officers are searching 18 premises in London and one in Stoke-on-Trent.
The Met Police said it was part of an ongoing inquiry into Islamist-related terrorism and not in response to any immediate threat to the public.
Mr Choudary is the former UK head of the Islamist group al-Muhajiroun or Islam4UK, banned in the UK in 2010.
The arrested men, aged between 22 and 51, are being held at police stations in central London.
Choudary was arrested for being part of a terrorist organization.
UPDATE: Choudary recently appeared on RussiaTV to correct Obama and the West regarding the Islamic nature of terrorism.
During his appearance, Choudary insists that the Koran instructs Muslims to terrorize their enemies.
Starting at 1:19 Choudary defends the Islamic State and terrorism:
Choudary: I think that there is terrorism which is pro life and there is terrorism which is against life. You know you can terrorize the enemy in order to make sure that the war ends quickly, and this is what I think the Islamic State in fact are trying to do to scare off the Americans and their own allies in Syria and Iraq. And then there’s terrorism which is against life which is like carpet bombing and dropping nuclear weapons, you know the shock and awe we saw in Iraq before, so I think it has many nuances but if you look at the ordinary english definition I think theres something called state terrorism which in fact the Americans are engaging in quite regularly.
Interviewer: I’ve heard you make similar points before. Just recently on CNN you said that the decapitation of US Photo Journalist James Foley was in fact an attempt by the Islamic State to terrorize their enemy, which in this case is the United States, and on some level that goal was achieved given the publicity that killing generated but I wonder whether something like that could be justified under the sharia law. Can you really hold an individual responsible for the actions of a collective? Is that legal in Islam?
Choudary: Well as a lecturer in Sharia law I would say to the people in Russia, the Muslims and the non-Muslims, every action for a Muslim must be base on the Koran, the word of Allah, and the teachings of the messenger Muhammud, who is the final messenger for mankind – I would first invite the people to think about and embrace Islam. but those that are already Muslim must know that Allah mentions in the Koran that if you look in chapter 8 verse 60 “You shall prepare as much as you can steeds of war to terrorize the enemy” so terrorizing the enemy is in fact part of Islam. This is something that we must embrace and understand as far as the juries prudence of Jihad is concerned.
