SETUP: Gay Couple Enjoys Some Hanky-Panky at Diner Then Runs to Media When Asked Not to Return

This is what you call a setup–

The sign on the door at Big Earl’s restaurant says, “Welcome to Big Earl’s, where men act like men, women act like ladies, no saggy pants and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.”

But Collin Dewberry and his partner Kelly Williams decided to dine at Big Earl’s Restaurant in Pittsburg, Texas anyway. While they were at the restaurant they started a little planned hanky-panky. When the waitress asked them not to come back to the restaurant they ran to the local media.

The Dallas News Blog reported:

Collin Dewberry and his partner Kelley were reportedly asked not to come back to a restaurant in Pittsburg, Texas, because they are gay, reports CBSDFW.

Per recorded interviews with Dewberry and Big Earl Cheney, owner of the accused restaurant Big Earl’s Bait House and Country Store, the owner’s daughter was the waitress who told the couple they were not allowed to come back because of house rules.

“She told them the rules are on the door and it says ‘Welcome to Big Earl’s, where men act like men, women act like ladies, no saggy pants and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone,’” said owner Cheney.

Followed Dewberry, “And so I laughed and I asked ‘What do you mean?’ And that’s when she said to us … ‘to put it plainly, we don’t serve fags here.’”

Cheney said the gay couple had been acting inappropriately beneath the table, “with his legs stretched out into the other guy’s lap,” he told CBSDFW. Dewberry denied that allegation.

Big Earl’s posted this comment on Facebook following the news reports:

My goodness, does anyone read or study? Big Earl has spent his life in the military to defend this country and will be happy to explain the constitution to you. Earl is well versed in the Bible and Christianity, has travelled the world and is well educated. It would have been nice for the full interview to have played in order to explain the background to what caused the incidence. The quote “we don’t serve fags here” was never said, instead, after being badgered, the young lady said “We do not like fags”. The behavior portrayed by the young couple was simply inappropriate and would have been considered so no matter what sexual orientation.
