Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were married this weekend.
The wedding was overshadowed by the UCSB shootings and stabbings.
After the feast, the Stronger hitmaker praised his wife as ‘the ideal celebrity… the ideal art,’ and also mentioned ‘spending every single day of [his] life with Kim’ in a 20 minute speech.
In speaking about he and Kim’s inner circle, the hip hop artist said: ‘We are warriors! There is not one person at this table that has not had to defend us at some point or another.’
He added, referring to a specific group of guests at the wedding: ‘At this table…the combination of powers…can make the world a better place.’ He deemed them ‘the most remarkable people of our time.’
The father-of-one brought up ‘public warfare’ in his speech and also touched on the pros and cons of celebrity status.
‘They feel like it’s okay to put you on the tabloid covers to sell your image, to use you in an SNL spoof,’ he said.
‘We don’t negotiate. We’re not like that. We’re not stupid.’ He also added: ‘The Kardashians are an industry!’
The multi-million dollar nuptials held the day before, saw the couple say their vows on a hilltop overlooking Florence, shielded by a 20ft high wall of white roses and peonies.
The pair were seen standing with their hands clasped watched by rows and rows of their 600 guests – who did not include Kanye’s friends Beyonce and Jay Z or Kim’s brother Rob.
