A new book entitled “Enemies Within” claims the NYPD designated entire mosques as terrorist organizations.
The New York Police Department has secretly labeled entire mosques as terrorism organisations, a designation that allows police to use informants to record sermons and spy on imams, often without specific evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
Since the 9/11 attacks, the NYPD has opened at least a dozen ‘terrorism enterprise investigations’ into mosques, according to interviews and confidential police documents.
It’s hard to see how this surveillance is constitutional in a peace time law enforcement context. And since #Progressives have told us we’re not at war anymore, and we should all go back to sleep ala 9/10, it’s hard to see how this can stand. On the other hand, if we are in fact engaged in a declared defensive war against violent and fascist Islamist supremacy, then who knows what’s permissible.
Prediction: American Muslims who’ve been silent while jihadis have been committing atrocities around the world in Islam’s name will suddenly find their voice to protest NYPD anti-jihad surveillance methods.
