Nine people were killed aboard the Gaza-bound Turkish ship after IDF troops who raided it encountered violent resistance by “peace activists” armed with an assortment of weapons. The “peace activists” threw stun grenades and beat the Israeli soldiers with pipes and chains. The ships failed to comply to Israeli commands and planned the surprise attack on the Israeli troops.

Today, after meeting with Barack Obama, Israeli Prime Minister reportedly called Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to apologise over the Mavi Marmara raid in 2010.

The White House says president Obama has congratulated Netanyahu over the call, in which he apologized for quote “operational mistakes”.
