NBC Chicago reported, via Free Republic:

It’s been nearly three months since Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned from Congress, but now NBC News confirms that Jackson has signed papers in a plea deal within the past several days.

Jackson’s case is being handled by the US Attorney’s office in Washington DC. While no public announcement is expected today, those with knowledge of the investigation believe the loose ends now deal with Jackson’s wife, former Alderman Sandi Jackson, and whether or not she is ultimately charged.

Under the terms of the deal Jackson signed, he pleads guilty and his fate – as to jail time – would be in the hands of a federal judge, not yet assigned.

He would repay the government hundreds of thousands of dollars – for items like the $40,000 Rolex watch, travel expenses for a woman he described as a “social acquaintance” and furniture purchased for his home.

  1. Guaranteed that this plea deal INCLUDES him and his family keeping his 6-figure gov’t pension (for life) and full health benefits (for life).

Jesse Jr. said he wouldn’t agree to any plea deal which didn’t include these terms. Notice how they’re not mentioning any of this?

  2. Five years.. is that all.. those who abuse public trust (and money) should receive a very stiff sentence.

  3. So what if he spends the first few years of his plush 6-figure retirement in the slammer? Once he gets out, he’ll move to Boca Raton Florida and life the good life on taxpayer money.

  4. I will be extremely surprised if he spends a single day in jail, loses a single day of his federal pension and health benefits or even serves probation. More likely he’ll get a slap on the wrist and an immediate “presidential pardon.”

  5. A couple of thoughts. . .did his plea deal include blowing the whistle on BHO. . .it should have!

Also, throw his sorry behind in jail and when his father comes to visit him, nab him too (and see if he can get Al Sharpton to come along).

Why do you folks in Chicago/Illinois put up with such corruption. . .I know some of you must have some sense out there in Chi-town?

  6. He’s never going to do jail time because at the end of the day, even if the judge gives him time, Obama will step in and pardon him. Just watch.

  7. Have they built a special politician’s wing at the penitentiary there yet?

    Watch your wallets, guards!

  8. Oh please! This stupid, racist, insane regressive commiecrat isn’t going to do jail time.

  9. he will be pardoned by Obama as soon as he goes to jail.

  10. His next job will be mayor of either DC or Chicago.

  11. When Jackson goes away, he’ll be replaced by an other black Chicagoan who will be just as crimonal and just as stupid. And this interchangeable part will contuinue to be elected and reelected.

In Chicago not much ever changes for the better.

  12. GotFreedom, that’s cute that you think people get to vote in Chicago. The results are determined ahead of time and the folks that paid enough get “elected”. There probably hasn’t been a legit election in Chicago since Mrs. O’Leary’s cow kicked over that lantern.

It’s not who votes that counts, it’s who counts the votes.

  13. A congressman guilty of essentially embezzling large amounts of money from the Federal government.

WOW! That is a major scandal! How on earth did I miss reading about this on the front page of national newspapers for all of these weeks? Please explain.

  14. Yeah ‘j’,

Got a harpism on ‘jr. jackson?

How ’bout that ol’ thieving, his orneryest, william jefferson.

damned liberals are all alike. presenting the truth clams them up temporarily.

  15. Five years? Fat chance. Not with Obama and Holder around to run interference for him. Jackson looks far too much like Obama’s son would look, if he had one, to spend much time in jail …

  16. But what did he do?
And won’t he remain free OR while on appeal?
and what of Corzine and MF Globaloney? Why is Jeffey Jacskon’s kid more dire than that?
Isn’t this Kabuki to detract our attention from the kleptocracy in DC?

  17. He won’t go to jail. White politicians rarely go to jail for their crimes…Therefore, the left would cry racism.

  18. Looking forward to diddling Sandy while Jr. locked up.
    Jibbity Jibbity

  19. To borrow a line from a movie…

“He’ll be going to Federal ‘pound me in the ass’ prison”.
