This was the second time this week Ahmadinejad was physically attacked in Egypt. A protester threw a shoe at Mahmoud at a mosque stop earlier in the week.
Arutz Sheva reported, via Free Republic:

An Egyptian citizen attempted to assault Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Cairo on Thursday evening.

According to a report in the website of the Egyptian daily Al-Masry Al-Youm, the assault occurred at the residence of Mojtaba Amani, the acting Iranian ambassador in Cairo, during a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the Iranian Islamic Revolution.

The attacker attempted to physically assault Ahmadinejad as he chanted, “Down with Iran, he must leave,” Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.

A journalist for the Turkish news agency Anadolu who was present at the scene said that the aggressor was swiftly removed by security guards.

This is the second attempted attack on the Iranian president during his stay in Cairo.

Earlier this week, a young Syrian man tried to assault Ahmadeinjad as he was coming out of a mosque, throwing his shoe at the Iranian president.

  1. The Rage-O-Meter gives this story a 1 out of 5:

  2. There are many common-sense individuals that do not like human garbage giving Islam a bad name. Unfortunately they are jailed and disappear. Their families also suffer as well. Sounds alot like China too doesn’t it?

  3. Do you mean that Like-my-dinner-jacket is not universally adored in Muslim world? Oh, dearie me!

  5. One shoe is an incident, 100 shoes is a real statement, plus they would not know who to arrest. A little friendly protest advice.

  6. Damn, if they’re going to make a habit of this, I’ll be happy to send a few pair of size 13 work boots.
