Texas AG Runs Ads in New York Urging Gun Owners to Load Up Their Gun Racks & Move to Texas

(Village Voice)

Terrfic! Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is running ads on New York websites urging law abiding gun owners to pack up their guns and move on down to Texas.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has a message for New York gun owners: Come to Texas, and bring your guns with you.

“Texas is better than New York, and New York just gave us another excuse to say that,” Abbott, a Republican, said on Thursday, after ads extolling Texas appeared on several media websites.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, signed sweeping gun-control legislation earlier this week expanding the state’s ban on assault weapons and putting limits on ammunition capacity in the wake of last month’s school shootings in Connecticut.

Abbott, a possible candidate for governor of Texas in next year’s election, used campaign money to buy ads on websites of news organizations in New York City and Albany.

One ad says in classic Western script: “WANTED: Law abiding New York gun owners seeking lower taxes and greater opportunities.”

Clicking on the ad leads to a Facebook page touting the virtues of Texas, including the fact that the state has no income tax so “you’ll be able to keep more of what you earn and use that extra money to buy more ammo.”

Is this the pre-secession state or the post-secession country doing the inviting?

Bad idea, then you have a bunch of big government lovers looking for the same in your home. Something like the intrusive in-law who criticizes everything in your house. We have had a couple in our small town. The first thing they did was get involved with the local Dems and start making big city noise. They didn’t stay long.

Very bad idea!!!! It’s always as””””les from other states who come here and want to change Texas into what they left.

We’ve always been a country. Texas was founded as a Republic in it’s own right and we can revert to that status if we choose. A few extra shooters don’t hurt. 😉

And, we don’t hold our handguns sideways in Texas.

Did you hear Limbaugh on 1/16/13?

RUSH: Obama is literally pushing people to snap, attacking the very sanity of the country. To what end? Aside from wanting everybody’s name on a list of some kind, why is Obama doing all of this? I mean, all of this is so in our face. Everything that people hold dear is under assault, deliberately making people upset. This is not what presidents do. Deliberately making people upset.

Maybe this is about revenge. You know, Obama used that word when he was on the campaign trail prior to the election. He told his supporters in Ohio to go vote and get their revenge. Revenge against who? Well, obviously, the people that disagree with Obama.

But who are those people? He clearly knows who they are, and I think the root of this, I think the answer to my question can be found in the comment that Obama made when he thought he was off the record at a fundraiser in San Francisco, when he talked about the bitter clingers. These are people that the liberals all know. These are the not very bright people that want life to never change. They don’t want any progress…. None of this should come as a surprise

(Mooch audio here): Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.

It’s his model. Push. Complain about you. Push. Complain about you. Push. Complain about you.

He who values the right to privacy as a basis for aborting fetuses does not value your privacy, your right to be left alone.

“The right to be left alone—the most comprehensive of rights, and the right most valued by a free people.”— Louis Brandeis, dissenting, OLMSTEAD v. U.S., 277 U.S. 438 (1928).

Unfortunately for all the New Yorkers who want to move + bring their guns to Texas, they first have to figure out how to legally get their guns from their house to their car without violating New York’s ridiculous gun laws!

Maybe the Texas A.G.’s next ad can provide instructions on how to do that…

Keep those Liberal NYers and Californians OUT-OF-TEXAS lest these Libtards try to do to TEXAS what they did to California. . .ruin it!

These bleeding hear liberals have sold out their communities to political hacks who tax, tax and tax them some more while also over-regulating their lives. . .

Amazing all those billions of dollars on the phony war on poverty spent in NY and other large urban areas (Philly, Detroit) since the 1960’s only to see more people on the government dole. . poorer than before with more single parent broken households. .

Keep these Libtards far, far away.

It’s post recession country inviting. It’s an earlier plan before worse case scenario hits the fan. Great more sharpshooters for Texas from New York.

If Texas becomes the Republic of Texas, its biggest problem is gonna be putting up a secure border fence to keep the hordes of freedom-seekers from over-running the place.

    Dear Texans,

Thank you for the kind invitation. As a registered Republican & a retired San Francisco Biz owner I have been wanting to leave CA for many years. Elderly family members & our Biz kept us here longer than we ever imagined. The first of our CA homes goes up for sale this summer & as soon as it sells we will be out of here, we figure we can sell the others from out of state. We are patriotic, hard working and long to live among like minded conservatives. We will bring our own money, guns and dogs. We promise never to be a financial drain on your state and to treat with respect and good manners. The last thing we would ever do is try & change you into the moronic Californians we are fleeing. For us, moving to TX will be like moving back to America, where we long to be.

I’m lonesome up here in NY wishing we were a red State. Andrew bundled a bunch of old laws together with a few new laws to make it look good on his resume’ for 2016. A dozen years ago I purchased a single shot 12 gauge shotgun at Dick’s outdoor store and they did a background check on me. Last year Wall Mart checks for a pistol permit to purchase ammo, went shopping for a hand gun and I asked to see one that took my interest and the clerk asked me to show my permit in order to handle the gun. Last year I renewed my permit, $5.00. There are other little tasks necessary to carry but Gov. made it look like a BFD, now he can brag, “I was first”.

Bad move for Texas, don’t let the people from other parts of the country in unless you are sure they won’t try to change the state of Texas into something “better”. Just like the immigrants that move to the USA and instead of joining us they demand we include their hateful religions and practices in our daily lives. The United States began falling apart when we were no longer a melting pot but African Americans, Hispanic Americans, muslim Americans and so on down the line. We are just supposed to be Americans. Texas, stop the riff raff from moving to your free state or they will bring their liberal tendencies with them even if they do like guns.

  • Come and listen to a story about a man named Ted
A struggling New Yorker, barely kept his family ahead,
Then one day he was reading the local news,
And up through his soul came a longing for Liberty.

Freedom that is, Constitutional Living, Texas TEA.

Texas just needs to be careful as people begin to move there, or it will become Colorado, or Vermont, or New Hampshire, or Maine. The libs who moved from California to Colorado brought their left leaning ways with them and are turning it into another cess pool blue state. Ditto for northern New England, the Massachusetts and New York limo libs invaded some of the most historically significant states in our nation and ruined them years ago.

Liberals are like locusts, they invade a state, destroy everything in it of value, then move on. Stay vigilant Texas!

  • Oh, I normally like Greg Abbott’s moxie, but I REALLY dislike this. New Yorkers move here to Texas and bring their guns?? ONLY IF THEY LEAVE THEIR NEW YORK IDEAS OF GOVERNANCE AND TAXATION BEHIND!

  • Tom Doniphon

No one seriously believes that Texas can or will return to the days of the Republic!

Sam Houston was the greatest Texan that ever lived! He was the first president of the Republic, Governor and U.S. Senator! He tried to talk the secessionist idiots down in 1861 and they removed him from office! What an embarrassment! I wonder if some of my fellow Texans know the sad story of brilliant Mr. Sam? Did you know that Sam Houston was the only man to serve as Governor of two states?

I agree with all those who think Abbott (and Perry) needs to SHUT THE HELL UP! Just two more blowhard opportunist politicians running for office! Don’t come down here if your gonna try to tell us how you did it “back home”!

As far building a fence to keep folks out, well we have actually done the opposite on the southern border, so …?

  • Sasja

Be careful what you wish for. We’ve had a few Kalifornians move here because the cost of living is lower, taxes are lower and property values have remained somewhat steady. Problem is, they brought their lib thinking (that’s an oxymoron) with them. One couple even brought the husband’s drug dependent brother. Whoopee!

He told his supporters in Ohio to go vote and get their revenge. Revenge against who? Well, obviously, the people that disagree with Obama.

Great. He’s either ignorant or dishonest. I’m betting the latter. The “revenge” Obama was talking about was against those who tried to make it more difficult to vote – shorter hours, longer lines – hoping to sway the election.

    Lady Mondegreen commented:

Texans believe politics should be fun. Too bad you have no sense of humor.

    My Texans friends,

When I was in school, one of my classmates was a very nice woman from New York. She was puzzled by the great contrast between the friendly welcome she got, and all the stuff she’d heard from other New Yorkers about our state. She asked me about it, and I asked her, “Well, have you ever made fun of anybody’s accent?” She looked at me in genuine bewilderment, and said “No, why would I want to do that?” I grinned big at her, and said “You see, you have manners. You’ll find a friendly greeting everywhere you go.”

It’s alright to warn of the dumbsh!ts and self-entitled fools who have no better sense than to move to a wonderful state and then decide to try to change it to the ailing state they left. But some of those people who come are going to be pure gold. Even New York produces that kind of independent-minded person you’d be proud to have as a neighbor. They’ll come and stay because they like your attitude.

“for whatever reason people leave their homeland & come to America..
they need to leave their homeland behind & embrace America as their
homeland.. not bring their homeland from which they fled for whatever
reason with them to America & try to reestablish their homeland here..
this is America, not (fill in whatever homeland here)!! or go back from
whence they came if they were so happy there as to want to duplicate
it here.. go fight for your own homeland in your own country, i will fight
for my homeland in mine, namely America.. God Bless America, land of

Still cynical about secessionists although Idahopicker aka Logic before Authority was pin down for Property offense in court is different story. It will be post secession where worst than great depression happens. Once a human dies he won’t return to life. There is still major possibility for secession to happen even though we don’t know how bad Traitor in Chief gains support from Arabs, Iran, China, Russia and North Korea.

It’s true possibility that might happen about Texas concerning they need to screen every single family that’s going to move in. We may not know every differences for every family with those going to migrate and relocate their homes to a different state and county.
