Slimy Lib Rep Van Hollen Says GOP Wants to Raise Taxes on Those Making $22K to Protect Millionaires (Video)

Slimy liberal Rep. Chris Van Hollen accused Republicans of wanting to raise taxes on those on Medicare to protect millionaires. Van Hollen was on FOX News Sunday this morning.

“What we said was we wanted to take a balanced approach that very high income earners need to contribute a little more to reducing our deficit. Because otherwise folks on Medicaid and Medicare who are earning $22,000 a year median income would get walloped. I know you want to wallop them to protect the millionaires.”

And Democrats will continue to repeat this lie as long as they continue to get away with it.

Of course, it was Democrat Barack Obama who signed into law this week a bill that hits workers making less than $30,000 a year harder than those making $500,000 a year.

The Demo rats are vey good at getting their misinformation messaging out into the public discourse, while the GOP are terrible at their messaging. Not enough of it, not loud enough.

The only true tax policy that is fair and balanced and everyone pays their fair share is a flat tax policy, with a taxable income floor. Those below pay a very small amount, say 1-3%, or nothing. Similar to the poverty level. No write offs.

Charitabe deductions could be generated by corporate donations as part of their charter and communi sponsibility mantra. Great adverising for companies.

The current tax code isn’t working, and requiring the wealthy to a significantly larger percentage of their income than anyone else is not following the model of the “fair share” doctrine.

Obama is lying to the American public when he asks the weathly to”pay their fare share”. They already are. He’s just posturing to the uneducated and illinformed voting block.

One might as well make the equally stupid claim that van Hollan just wants to raise taxes on millionaires to protect the black welfare state and his voter base.

I swear liberals sound more like pampered pre-adolescent schoolgirls every day.

This is what passes for American political discourse these days.

    While Rome burns.

Every time a Dem opens his/her mouth Nixon flashes in front of me saying “I am not a crook”.

  • why let the truth get in the way of a good political lie.

  • pagar

IMO, there is no chance that a Democrat would allow a single dime to go to reduce the deficit.
They wouldn’t be able to steal it then.

  • Big Al

This is where McConnell made his fatal error. He thought by giving in on taxes it would pave the way for spending cuts. Nope. The dems are still on the same play as if nothing happened. When will we ever learn.

  • We’ve heard of the Congressional Black Caucus, the Progessive Caucus, Van Hollen needs to start the Congressional Pussy Caucus – limited to whiny white liberal metrosexual wimps

  • Patty

I see squirrels running through Van Hollen’s head looking for more nuts to follow his way of thinking.

Confusion, lies, sounds like another Rice. It the talk shows running and spread their propaganda over and over again. It is the pattern and when you are doing the work for Obama you can rest assure Van Hollen will be getting some big kickbacks.

    Obama, “that’s my boy”

When they start moving to tax actual wealth, you know, like Buffet’s, and decide to quite giving the Hollyweirdo’s a big tax break, then perhaps they can be taken seriously. Otherwise, the same old, worn out rhetoric is just, well, old and worn-out.

Right now, we obviously can’t get those in government to pay their taxes and Buffet has been battling the IRS for a few years now over what he owes.

  • Sasja

Anyone know how much this guy is worth? He’s been in Congress long enough to have amassed a small fortune, I would think.

    quite – s/b quit

Not a strong performance by the Republican…Letting the Democrat dominate the entire conversation.

Van Holland is afraid if people earning $22,000 a year had to pay $200.oo out of their own pocket for a program benefit, massive numbers of people would vote to END the welfare programs…..They would rather want that $200.00 for payments towards their 6 foot wide Hi Def TV in their cave dwelling, and the only reason they vote D is because the benefit is absolutely FREE.

Did the clip show Jim Jordan making the case that

“Washington always wins” these things. And

“We don’t need a ‘deal’, we need a solution.”

Jordan’s new to me, but he was a pretty good match and took it to the fast-talking, misleading Van Hollan who is too reminiscent of “oh, let me spout our lies” DebbieWSchulz.

  • JoyO

IMHO Van Hollen is just one hair span away from being as Progressive as Alan Grayson (D-FL) and he lies as well as Pelosi (D-CA) and Debbie Whatshername (D-FL).

Since Woodrow Wilson, the Progressives have claimed that our Constitution is dead and only the political elite and Government technocrats are smart enough to run our country. After decades under Progressive leadership, the United States has a Government that has PROMISED — but unfunded– entitlement benefits cost approaching $88 trillion; we have a country $16 trillion in debt; we have a real unemployment rate ranging from 11-14 percent — we have less an 65 percent of our citizens who want to work employed; and we have the dumbest crop of Progressives ever born serving in the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. On top of this, we have millions of Government employees — paid much more than the average American — who are busy are grinding out regulations guaranteed to make it more expensive for businesses to operate in the USA. When the interest rates on our debt increase as it undoubted will given the Progressives’ propensity to spend, this country is going to be in deep S**T.

  • L.E. Liesner

Idiots like Van Hollen have repeated this lie so often that they themselves believe it. But that is no excuse for the truth not to prevail even with the liberal climate of the media. The country cannot survive on a diet of lies like this.

  • YourMaster

eventually you run out of other people’s money to take tho… and then, at that point the country turns into Greece.

Greece is what happens under too much liberalism after they run out of taxable income
and there are too many socialized programs – and no revenue to pay for any of them.

  • Amash

I’m so proud. Another idiot MD politician. Since all we have are Dems, all are idiots. Can’t wait to move out of this OweMalley state.

  • Lim Lynn
Did anyone remember those millionaires and Hollywood Stars who supported by funding Barack Hussein Obama’s running for President? George Soros and his Socialist Commie have all along been protected from taxes eh?

  • Jeff

AS WE DISCUSSED YESTERDAY, these are apples and oranges.

Republicans DID want to raise INCOME taxes on poor and middle class if tax cuts to millionaires were not extended.

Republicans NEVER wanted the PAYROLL tax cuts that Obama gave for the past few years and is now putting back where they were for the past few decades. These are the “tax hikes” the conservative media is pointing to. These issues are complicated but I wish you all would try harder to see through the smoke.

I encourage all of you to simply google “republican opposition payroll tax cuts” and read up yourselves.

  • Look-Out

Uh,oh…Barry (and Chris VH) could be in some trouble. Their lies might be harder to sell —

With President Obama back in office and his life-saving “fiscal cliff” bill jammed through Congress, the new year has brought a surprising turn of events for his sycophantic supporters.

“What happened that my Social Security withholding’s in my paycheck just went up?” a poster wrote on the liberal site “My paycheck just went down by an amount that I don’t feel comfortable with. I guarantee this decrease is gonna’ hurt me more than the increase in income taxes will hurt those making over 400 grand. What happened?”

Shocker. Democrats who supported the president’s re-election just had NO idea that his steadfast pledge to raise taxes meant that he was really going to raise taxes. They thought he planned to just hit those filthy “1 percenters,” you know, the ones who earned fortunes through their inventiveness and hard work. They thought the free ride would continue forever.

  • I watched that guy! What a dirtbag? he lied an lied. Will someone PLEASE demand the list of what obama saved in is 1.2 trillion saving? Give me the lines and the numbers.

As for gun control, the young Rep. should have pointed out that Feinstein’s legislation highlights that once you own a gun you can never sell it or transfer it and when you die you cannot will it to your kids. Which means that it would be one generation confiscation.

She wants you to register it. If it is not there when you die, somebody is in trouble. If you list it stolen, you had better be able to prove the theft. We’ll be hiding guns like Christians hid Jews from the Nazis.

But it did remind me that I cannot ever run for office. Man, I’d been over that table and whuppin’ his lying rear end on national TV. He’d be telling the truth or unconscious.

BTW- one author referred to people like Diane as “Cardinals” like the old Roman Catholic Church. Above the law, ruling the peasants, that sort of thing.

call her such from now on, and her friends. Love it. It fits and puts her life in perspective to ours.

Also- it’s Sunday, is David Gregory in jail yet? Would be if he were black or one of us.

    Just saying.
