Rep. Steve King: President Seems to Think He Can Set Aside Language of Constitution & His Oath of Office (Video)

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) commented today on President Obama’s vow to raise the debt limit without negotiations with Republicans in the House. King was on America’s Newsroom this morning.

“He does not have the constitutional authority to raise the debt limit. And, I understand that the White House has receded from that argument in the last several days. But, if the president should decide to defy the constitution it does put the House in the position that we have to defend it. We’ve all taken an oath to uphold the constitution and we respect the oath we gave unlike the president who seems to think he can cavalierly cast aside the language of the constitution and his oath of office. So there’s a couple things we can do.

It’s pretty obvious by now that Barack Obama has no intention of following the US Constitution when it gets in his way of reshaping America. Good for Rep. King for holding this president accountable.

Then the republicans better do something. Stop talking and do something now!!! Not only is Obama wanting to be Americas first King he has some mental health issues.

We need to start melting down some phone lines to the capital.

Traitor In Chief can do anything he find suitable to his Socialist Democrat Commie political taste. Well, we will see in 2013 he will by pass Congress Constitution 2nd Amendment through Executive Order.

Rep. King speaks well, but I’m looking for action. Given the widespread impotence of the Republican Party, I’m not holding my breath.

Good job, Mr. King. Mr. King is one of the best representatives we are blessed with.

But Barry Sotero is an illegal alien posing as a president, a trespasser lurking in the white house. He himself is unconstitutional. The Army and the Secret Service have a duty to get rid of him.

His Jish masters (Obama’s owners and operators) got the cases against him fixed.

All his statutes, rules, regulations, appointments and executive orders are all null and void, as a matter of law.

This biggest criminal (and those who fixed the cases against him) should be arrested and tried for the biggest and the most brazen crime in American history.

Enough talk. (I think King is one of the few decent reps but that only goes so far.) Words without actions at this time are worse than worthless. Don’t keep teasing about something being done when nothing is–e.g. fast and furious, Benghazi, executive orders enforcing new spending decrees without congress approval, no budget, etc. Obamaites are destroying the foundations of this country and the constitution with impunity.

  • All_IS_LOST

Frank: – “Jish Masters” Really going there? I will never understand this thinking.

Democrats and Republicans have ignored the Constitution for many decades. Obama may be the most arrogant. An Executive order is meant to clarify existing law and not make law which is reserved for the legislature, but this did not stop any president of course.

  • StandUpChuck

Republicans, stop talking and do something, NOW! We are sick of the banter!

…We’ve all taken an oath to uphold the constitution and we respect the oath we gave unlike the president…

Horsechit. Maybe, and I’m being generous, that might apply to three of you. Out of 535.

The rest are in it for the perks, or for the power, or for the money, or for the fame.

530+ people swore an oath, but since words don’t have definitions, and since anything can now mean anything else and even its opposite, and since the God who gave us the Bible upon which they swore that oath has been banished from their hearts, it means NOTHING.

The Constitution was written and designed to be used by a Godly, and even Christian nation. A surrealist, postmodernist, reason-free, Godless, greedy, selfish, and so-open-minded-that-their-brains-fell-out nation cannot be governed by the Constitution.

    It’s just not possible.

I’m surprised Lockman Foundation (NASB), Zondervan (NIV), Thomas Nelson (NKJV), and others, haven’t endeavored to “translate” our United States Constitution?

I mean why not? I mean, really. 1700’s language is soooo ancient and needs to be revised for the modern “ear” and sensibilities. Just come up with different versions. New American Standard Constitution; New International Constitution; New Revised Standard Constitution.

    “We, a group of people…”

    “We, the assembled…”

    “This nation of people…”

    “Us people, who exist here…”

I just realized, after checking my stats, that my cynicism has leveled up.
