An Oceanside school has been locked down after authorities received reports of a man carrying a gun near the campus.
Authorities said Laurel Elementary School (1410 Laurel Street) was locked down at about 12:30 p.m. after reports of a man with a gun near the school were received.
Local 10News has more:
Police told 10News that three students at the school were at recess and playing near a fence when a man approached them and told them they should run.
According to officers, the students got scared, went into their classroom and told a teacher — which prompted the lockdown.
UPDATE: Police lifted the lock down later this afternoon.
