For First Time Ever… Obama to Use Civil Rights Activist and Not Clergy to Deliver Benediction at Inauguration

It’s an Obama world.

Myrlie Evers-Williams (News One)

For the first time ever Barack Obama will use a lay person and not a clergy member to deliver the benediction at the 2013 Inauguration.
The Washington Post reported:

President Obama has picked Myrlie Evers-Williams, widow of slain civil rights icon Medgar Evers, to deliver the invocation at his public swearing-in later this month. It is believed to be the first time a woman, and a layperson rather than a clergy member, has been chosen to deliver what may be America’s most prominent public prayer.

The inaugural committee Tuesday plans to announce that the benediction will be given by conservative evangelical pastor Louie Giglio, founder of the student-focused Passion Conferences, which draw tens of thousands of people to events around the world.

The contrasting choice of speakers are typical of a president who has walked a sometimes complicated path when it comes to religion — working to be inclusive to the point that critics at times have questioned his faith.

In a statement released by the inaugural committee, the president said the careers of Evers-Williams and Giglio “reflect the ideals that the Vice President and I continue to pursue for all Americans – justice, equality and opportunity.”

To liberal blacks, civil rights is a religion.

(I would point out that “civil rights” is no longer about civil rights, but perceived “revenge rights” by blacks and hispanics.)

It is a blasphemy to question affirmative action. It is blasphemy to suggest that blacks can be racist. It is blasphemy to ask a black President for his college transcripts.

“Underpinning the NAACP’s support for race preferences is its fervent belief that white racism in the United States remains an intractable, largely undiminished, phenomenon. Elaine Jones of the NAACP’s Legal Defense and Education Fund, for instance, contends that the Ku Klux Klan’s racist views “are shared quietly” by many Americans. According to the NAACP’s former Chair, Myrlie Evers-Williams, “America reeks of racism.” And the NAACP’s former Executive Director, Benjamin Chavis, has lamented the “vestiges of American apartheid” that allegedly prevent blacks from acquiring a “fair share” of the American economy, calling racism “worse today than it was in the 60s.” Citing what he perceived to be America’s pervasive racial injustice, Chavis called the 1992 Los Angeles riots a justified “people’s rebellion” against their white oppressors. As compensation for the enslavement of their ancestors between the 17th and 19th centuries, and as punishment for America’s allegedly persisting racism throughout the post-slavery era, the NAACP favors the notion of reparations payments to black Americans.”

I can still recall how I recoiled in horror during the first benediction given by one of Obama’s pals. He called on “Whites to do what’s right.” If that wasn’t an in-your-face insult to a majority of the population, tell me what is. Yes, the second term will in in-our-faces day and night until something is done about it.

oh yeah she does not believe in killing babies.

I don’t believe human sacrifice is on the list of inaugural events.”

I am sure Planned Parenthood will be throwing a party or two, and don’t forget that the abortion pill is now free.

Where’s Jeremiah Wright? Forgot the code to the gate at his golf course, 98% whitey, mansion? And Barry claims he’s a Christian; then so is my black Lab!

Lincoln’s widow is the raaaaacist here. Are there no black clergy in America? Are most of them pro-life, perhaps? Somewhere, a bridge is missing its troll.

    Hmmmm…….abortion is human sacrifice.

I haven’t though about it in those terms, but it is at that. A sacrifice to the gods (idols) in hope that if they don’t have to raise a child and that the gods will give them more money, time for themselves, prestige, and a trouble free life.

And liberals support it all the way.

An unborn child IS a human child no matter at what point of development he/she is or what the medical/technical term is used (fetus, etc).

as a white guy, i am no longer responding to any civil rights blather…if you are black in america and haven’t made it yet after the largest expansion of the welfare state over the last 50 years then i’m sorry, i’m all out of guilt induced behavior. obama should be careful how far he agitates, he might not like the outcome. remember, the first shot of the revolution was fired by accident, but the rest were fired with purpose. the first place to move on would be all of the government agencies that have received millions of rounds of hollow point ammunition ordered by homeland insecurity to be used by your own government against you.

The woman is black – so obviously she’s anointed, or something.

Just what gives you any indication this is about race?

“Michelle in the traditional swahili head dress.”

“I wonder why the big O did not call on MLK’s niece”

“Ah surprised he’s not getting Sharpton”

    Nope, nothing racial there.

    Hmmmm…….abortion is human sacrifice.
Who said anything about abortion. Babies, by definition, have already been born.

A very young child, esp. one newly or recently born.

First, in the Scriptures, there is NO DIFFERENCE between the clergy and lay person. As a matter of fact, God HATES this kind of thing. Its called Nicolatianism, the deeds of the Nicolatians which I HATE, He says.

But, secondly, we are in the Laodicea church age. The word Laodicea means “right of the people” as in civil rights. God calls this time period the WORST on the face of the planet. It is where everyone has rights but Him. The way he handles it is by destroying it by bringing everyone together (bind them) in bundles (matt 13) to burn them. And, yes you are going to get run over by Apartheid (minority ruling majority i.e. CRA of 1964).

Then again, the wicked shall be turned into hell and every nation that forgets God. America dumped God 100 years ago so God has dumped America.

Oh, I see. Pointing out Obama hangs out with a bunch of race baiters and race hustlers is in itself, racist.

    Got it.
