ESPN Apologizes for Brent Musburger’s Comments About Miss Alabama

Last night at the BCS championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame veteran announcer Brent Musbarger was very impressed with Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron’s girlfriend Katherine Webb, a statuesque Auburn alum and Miss Alabama.

“You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman… Whoa!”

The video went viral.

This afternoon ESPN apologized for the outburst.

On Tuesday, ESPN responded to the commentary:

“We always try to capture interesting storylines and the relationship between an Auburn grad who is Miss Alabama and the current Alabama quarterback certainly met that test. However, we apologize that the commentary in this instance went too far and Brent understands that.”
