US to Send Patriot Missile Batteries & Troops to Turkey

The United States as well as two other Nato members, the Netherlands and Germany, is sending two Patriot missile batteries to Turkey. This comes after the reports this week that the Assad regime was shooting Scud-style missiles at their own people.

CNN reported:

The United States gave the go-ahead Friday to deploy Patriot anti-ballistic missiles to Turkey along with enough troops to operate them as the heavily embattled government in neighboring Syria again vehemently denied firing ballistic missiles at rebels.

The United States has accused Damascus of launching Scud-type artillery from the capital at rebels in the country’s north. One Washington official said missiles came close to the border of Turkey, a NATO member and staunch U.S. ally.

Syria’s government called the accusations “untrue rumors” Friday, according to state news agency SANA. Damascus accused Turkey and its partners of instigating rumors to make the government look bad internationally.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta signed the order while en route to Turkey to send two Patriot missile batteries and 400 U.S. troops to operate them. The surface-to-air interceptors will help in “dealing with threats that come out of Syria,” Panetta said after landing at Incirlik Air Base, a U.S. Air Force installation about 80 miles from Syria’s border.

Another instance of sending weapons and support to an Islamist who would not be unhappy to see Israel destroyed.
We have a traitor and an Islamist in the white House.

    Same-old, same-old.

Hussein in Iraq. Mubarak in Egypt. Kudaffi in Libya. Now it’s Assad’s turn. All replaced or to be replaced with the Muslim Brotherhood that can be traced directly to the White House (aka President & Valarie Jarrett).

See the picture? Saudi Arabia is using the U.S. military to bring about their muslim Caliphate at the expense of our sons & daughters. And our government bends over backwards so that the world’s reserve currency, the U.S. fiat dollar $$, remains denominated in oil retaining any worth.

But there’s another story going on the background. It has been set in place before the Creation of the world. It’s called the End Times (Great Tribulation, Time of Jacob’s/Israel’s Trouble, …) and it’s happening right before your eyes. The world calls it Armageddon. God’s Word calls it leading all the nations of the world to come up against Jerusalem in order to exterminate the jews. Only this time, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob will not sit idly by and allow His chosen people to be destroyed. It’s only a matter of time.

‘the Assad regime was shooting Scud-style missiles at their own people.’

Why are ya all pulling for the Muslim bro’hood in Turkey?
Did you not see the car bombing in Syria? The people you are taking up for are radical Muslim Jihadists.

    The “Arab Spring”

See it all for yourself. I DONT GET IT. Why are Christians NOT taking up for Christians?? F’k the Muslims in Syria.
If Assad loses position, the SAME thing will happen in Syria as Egypt and Libya

The Turkish boarder is a NATO boarder.

Considering that our Patriot batteries were incapable of destroying Scuds in Israel during Operation Desert Shield – I am puzzled about what good they will do now. Patriot missiles were designed to shoot down winged aircraft.

It might be logical to assume that our technology has improved, but considering the anti-aircraft nature of the batteries and the possibility of guidance system improvements on the Scuds, I would be hard pressed to think that this announcement is anything other than propaganda on Obama’s part.

What will bring down Scuds are Arrow II anti-missile missiles – but giving those to jihadists when they were developed jointly with Israel just would not fly (excuse the pun).

    Don’t care.

Since the ascent of Erdogan, Turkey hasn’t exactly been much of an “ally”. Remember the 4th ID? Noticed the recent hostility to Israel that wasn’t there before?

I say we give them the same less-than-an-ally treatment they gave us.

Turkey, hum isn’t that the country that wouldn’t let US troops and supplies cross over their boarder during the Iraq invasion?

Turkey has not been our “staunch” ally for quite a few years. It is not openly hostile but it is less than a friend, plus clearly hostile to our real friend, Israel.
