Sorry Barack… You’re a little late.
Both legislative houses in Michigan passed right to work bills last week. Republicans are set to bring up right to work bills for final consideration as soon as tomorrow making Michigan the 24th right to work state.

Today Barack Obama flew into Detroit to slam right to work states at his so-called fiscal cliff event.

Studies confirm that right to work states benefit from faster growth and better pay.
So it makes sense then that Obama is against it.

Time For A Trip To The Woodshed

[Perhaps I was too harsh, because they really aren’t the problem because we have John Boehner, a man so ill-equipped to serve and defend that the only characters that come to mind are Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, and I very well might be denigrating cartoons unfairly by using their names and his in the same sentence. And we have a bigger issue than President Obama’s personal caddy and that is the president himself, who recently pronounced his deplorable ignorance by misspeaking about PE ratios.

Not to be crass, but that is a mistake only an idiot makes. It’s time to serious-up people. We’re talking about the President of the United States who is mindful of the character played by Chris Farley in the movie “Tommy Boy” and refers to John Hancock as Herbie Hancock and thinks he’s got it right.

Just how low has the collective IQ fallen if such a dunce is allowed to lecture us, knit his eyebrows, point his finger and talk about a solution when he cannot even identify the problem? And though I am reluctant to bring up President Bush because Obama and staff still haven’t quit bashing him, the following question is fair and due to be asked: what would the media be doing right now if George Bush had referred to our country having 57 states or could not speak correctly about a PE ratio when he’s trying to tell the country how to improve its finances?

Well, the answer is pretty clear, but the motivation is not, at least in regard to respectability for a profession. It truly stretches the mind as to how this imbecile goes unscathed because none of the highly paid journalists has the nerve or interest to ask a tough question.]

    Amen, again and again..

  2. The only people right-to-work legislation punishes are the fat-cat union bosses and the incompetent workers. My wife’s a teacher that is one of three in her school who has a masters degree, has routinely received significant recognition both internal to the district for the achievement of her program and outside the district through judging of her bands. She’s also one of two non-union employees in the building.

Two years ago, facing major budget constraints, the district asked the teachers to hold on raises and pay a bit more in their retirement and health care, instead of simply cutting teacher positions. The union rejected the offer and more than a half-dozen teachers were let go (the youngest, least expensive, of course, which made the cuts more dramatic than losing one or two teachers who’ve been around and won’t retire, yet have very little passion left in them for teaching).

Why would anyone want to be a part of the union monstrosity? What kind of loser does President Obama have to be to oppose excellence and instead, reward incompetence (paid for at a huge premium, with the bloated expense of union management added on top of it all)?

  3. I’m in Michigan too. Way to go Gov. Synder. Maybe this will finally take the state of out the death spiral it’s been in since 2001.

Fine line between genius and madness, scientists find

[The gene, which is called neuregulin 1, plays a role in brain
development but a variant of it is also associated with mental
illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.]

  5. What the Ivy League Aristocrat can’t figure out, or doesn’t want to admit is that a Right to Work Status allows someone to opt out of, or not be forced to join a Union. That’s called Freedom Mr. President.

Any employee that wants to remain part of the Union can do so, they’re not being forced out, and their pay scale is not being decreased.

that’s not the first time i’ve read something like that…

so what’s with all these calls for “punishment”??

these people must already look upon Obama as their
Dictator.. not as the President of a Nation of Liberty..

    besides, Barry wouldn’t even punish
    his kids with a baby.. /serious sarc/

  7. Thank you to the brave legislators in MI for standing firm and not being intimidated by BHO/Unions. . .doing what’s in the best interest of your state is commendable and we hope that you (along with WI) serve as inspirations and motivators for other “rust belt” states! Keep up the good work MI!

Stand up, speak out and fight back!

  8. The elephant in the room is the demonstrated fact that when a state goes Right to work, union particpation drops like a rock . In some cases, 50% drop out the first year, especially when the state refuses to collect dues directly from paychecks. So, yes, union influence drops, but so what. That is called freedom of choice. If work conditions get really bad, expect people to voluntarily join unions again.

  9. All that garabage from Pres Obigears on the same day Chrysler …the company he sold for next to nothing to foreigners becuase unions bankrupted them…were FORCED to rehire drunken , stoned workers who abused the priviledge of working and getting a paycheck.

Also ABC battery that obama gave to his bundler buddies millions and millions and went bankrupt is now sold to CHINA. Its a clusterf*ck in this administration.

  10. I pay my employees way more than the union shops pay there’s and mine don’t pay dues. Both shop get health coverage we don’t offer a retirement plan but that’s ok since what the union shop pays in pension contributions is less than half of the difference between the wages. In the end our staff can pay into there own pension through who ever they want and still have more money in the bank.

  11. The left hates personal freedom.

I like the Union concept if I can choose to be part of one or not…in essence I can fire them when they become stupid.

  12. Meanwhile on the West Coast: The California Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal from Costa Mesa, Calif. officials in a union lawsuit challenging the city’s plan to outsource city jobs.

  13. Will he ever stop talking? When? When? Enough already.
Does he ever stay in the Oval Office and work?

  14. forced union dues is the worst thing that has ever happened to UNION WORKERS. it took away the only weapon they had to fight againist crooked union leaders. it helped to create the union bosses that are in power permanently just like the politicans.

  15. Will he ever stop talking? When? When? Enough already.

If by “talking” you mean campaigning, well, my guess is that the earliest possibility of this happening is Inauguration Day, 2016.

  16. A right-to-work law will not get rid of unions: it just gives control of the union to its members.
