Lib Mouthpiece Bob Costas Lectures America on Gun Control After Belcher Murder-Suicide (Video)

Just what you want from your sport’s announcer.
During halftime of the Sunday Night NFL Game lib Bob Costas lectured America on gun control.
This came after Kansas City Chief’s linebacker Jovan Belcher killed his girlfriend and committed suicide on Saturday.

The Blaze has the transcript:

Writer Jason Whitlock, with whom I do not always agree but today said it so well that we may as well just quote or paraphrase from the end of his article.

Our current gun culture, Whitlock wrote, ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead.’

Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it.

In the coming days, Jovan Belcher’s actions and their possible connection to football will be analyzed. Who knows? But here, wrote Jason Whitlock, is what I believe: If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.

These libs can’t help it.
They have to politicize everything – even a Sunday night football game.

I’ll believe these people are serious when guns are banned from movies. They barred smoking from movies, why not firearms?

The protagonist could run around with a strongly worded letter from the U.N. in his holster.

And we could all slit our wrists while watching and endless cavalcade of chick-flicks.

I wrote NBC informing them the in the UK, where handguns are illegal, 35% of homicides are from domestic violence. I also told them that I had immediately turned off the game and that it would be a long time before I watched any programming on their network.

Bob Costas should shut his ignorant lefty mouth.

there’s something about first hand experience that costas most likely hasn’t considered. i would think his security is much better than the average american. and as a side note…i can’t stand a group on one. the height of cowardice.

  • Multitude

Blame guns for the failure of Sports Culture. What else would you expect from faux intellectuals.

  • MAJ Mike

Don’t blame Costas for those anti-civil rights comments, blame his microphone.

A government that disarms the people is a government that can’t be trusted.

and if he hadn’t be using steroids, he probably wouldn’t have had anger issues that caused him to kill his girlfriend.

and if he hadn’t been a football play, idolized by the public, he probably would have realized that the law also applied to him.

RE: Elizabeth Smart (and her waterlogged kiddos)

We must either ban civilian ownership of cars outright (the literal “vehicle” of murder in her case), severely restrict WHICH people are permitted to purchase them (have to weed out the unstable, et al…), or mandate that vehicle manufacturers be required to build watertight vehicles that are unable to sink.

After all, it’s FOR THE CHILDREN!!!

In response to the NFL, NBC, Costa, and other’s excitement to ban guns. Let me introduce you to Jeanette Goodwin.

Jeanette lives in the UK where guns are banned. She also has a jealous former lover who has stalked her for months. Mrs Goodwin has made seven reports to police from January last year about harassment and domestic violence. On July 24, she phoned police at 2.40pm to report further harassment, stating five times that she was scared and that her boyfriend had been at her garden fence

Jeanette Goodwin, 47, was murdered in a horrific knife-attack at her home in Southend, Essex, in July 2011. Her jealous former lover stalked the mother of three for months before stabbing her more than 30 times.

This is the future that NBC, the NFL, and Costa want. No, they demand. They demand the weak and vulnerable be rendered defenseless.

There is no dispute that a firearm is the best self-defense tool. Everyday, they are used by the weak and vulnerable to defend themselves against violent predators.

Costa can roll around in the blood of the victims, but know that there will be more blood if Costa and his ilk get their way.

#28 Chris. You are right. I’ll let you take up that issue while I work on the issue of banning bath tubs. Several mothers have drowned their children in them plus many people fall in them. We indeed must make this world safe for all the Owebama voters who are too stupid to be careful (something that requires responsibility).

#29 sounds like we need to ban knifes too.

I’m thinking Bob Costas really wants to talk about Fast and Furious.

Libtards are flooding this country with degenerate 3rd world mongoloids who mug, rape and murder everything and everyone in order to destroy White America and stay in power indefinitely. Here’s hoping these anti-self-defense, anti-gun, soft-on-crime D Baggers get raped to death by their own pets…

Couldn’t have anything to do with painkillers and alcohol?…….Liberals are setting up the talking points for the next power-grab from this regime…..

  • Remco Kimber

To leftists, and Costas is undeniably a leftist, any and every opportunity is ripe for promoting the Total State via the Total Campaign,

“Tutto nello Stato, niente al di fuori dello Stato, nulla contro lo Stato” (“Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State”)

If the people don’t know their Constitution, and that unquestionably is an aim of the Democratic Party in particular, of government in general, then the people will have little complaint as the Constitution and the rights it’s suppose to protect are removed.

The motivation for the public statement is that the NFL is most likely facing down the barrel of a giant lawsuit from these families for not taking adequate security measures for the players on their own property. They have to make the argument about guns – not about the seedy side of football culture, nor the neer-do-wells they hire and promote. If they keep this up, more fans will spend their hard-earned money on NASCAR!

All this garbage pouring into the living room just for football?

There is no longer anything @ the Progs that surprises me. Jim, your last comment is what the central issue is.

    “These libs can’t help it.
They have to politicize everything – even a Sunday night football game.”

Do we realize that his recognition of this was the brilliance of Breitbart? He understood that the beast never sleeps so in response, neither did he.
The greatest failing of the Republican Party turns on this issue. They don’t want to depart from civility when the opposition does as a constant.
George W. with all his impotent advisers allowed lies to go unchallenged every day. Soon those lies become the currency of the discourse.
Mitt Romney failed to cope effectively with these tactics. (though he seemed far more willing to devour his opponents in the primaries.)

10gallonhat you nailed it. “Follow the money”
