ESPN Contributor Rips Robert Griffin III For Acting Too White… Possibly Being a Republican

Sports used to be so much better without the liberal BS.

Robert Griffin III’s girlfriend Rebecca Liddicoat –

ESPN panelist Rob Parker attacked Redskin’s QB Robert Griffin III for being too white, having a white girlfriend, and possibly being a Republican.
Sports Day DFW reported, via Free Republic:

Braids. A white fiancée. Being African American.

These were all topics an edition of ESPN’s “First Take” that concerned former Baylor QB and Washington Redskins star Robert Griffin III.

When asked about what RG3 had to say about being an African American quarterback, ESPN panelist Rob Parker, an African American himself, (Twitter handle @RobParkerESPN) had this to say. Transcriptions came from Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post.

‘But time and time we keep hearing this, so it just makes me wonder deeper about him,’ Parker said. ‘And I’ve talked to some people down in Washington D.C., friends of mine, who are around and at some of the press conferences, people I’ve known for a long time. But my question, which is just a straight honest question. Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother?’

He continued with, ‘Well, [that] he’s black, he kind of does his thing, but he’s not really down with the cause, he’s not one of us,’ Parker explained. ‘He’s kind of black, but he’s not really the guy you’d really want to hang out with, because he’s off to do something else.’

And then when he was asked why, he answered with this.

‘Well, because I want to find out about him,’ Parker said. ‘I don’t know, because I keep hearing these things. We all know he has a white fiancée. There was all this talk about he’s a Republican, which, there’s no information [about that] at all. I’m just trying to dig deeper as to why he has an issue. Because we did find out with Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods was like I’ve got black skin but don’t call me black. So people got to wondering about Tiger Woods early on.’

Color and what you have to be when you are that color are all that matter. Parker is obviously a racist. and stupid.

  • ★FALCON★

Less accomplished blacks are determined to keep every blacks on the plantation and never let anyone prove that it’s the character of the man and not the color of the skin.

And the head race-baiter in the White House is setting that poor example. And he’s leading from behind.

  • Faye

Yes Parker is a racist but maybe he is also jealous too. Heisman trophy, pro qb, big bucks and RG3’s girlfriend is probably as intelligent as she is beautiful.
What is with all these socialist blacks when someone of their race refuses to stay on the plantation they get all mean on the person who decided to be free from all the “victim” mindset garbage they wallow in daily.

I understand now. Being black is not about color, ethnicity, or culture. Black is being a Communist victim person who cannot achieve without government aid. That is what this sportscaster has taught me today.

  • Good god that Rebecca is HOT! Now, what did that idiot say?

  • platypus

I’ve been listening to this whining racist crap my whole life. I thought they would have gotten tired of sounding like idiots by now but I guess they just like being losers.

No wonder they got all hot and bothered when Joe BiteMe said “put ’em all back in chains.” They thought he was suggesting a bondage party down at the bathhouse.

  • Blacque Jacques Shellacque

I’m just trying to dig deeper as to why he has an issue.

The only person with an issue is this Parker a-hole, who seems to feel that everyone that looks as he does somehow has to exhibit similar traits and preferences, otherwise there’s something terribly wrong with them.

The really depressing aspect about his attitude is that it’s much too widely shared among those in his particular ethnic group.

  • donh

He forgot to fault the ” Griffin the 3rd ” name…How WHITE…how country clubbish …REAL blacks change back to African names like Natumbe and Matobo….Its the pretty white wife that really ticks them off.

  • Luke

Blacks need to marry other blacks. I dont like it when blacks marry white women. I think that black men need to marry black women.

The blacks have bad families becasue the good black men marry the white women, leaving black women to the bad black men.

Also, they produce black kids. This guys kids will be black–like Obama–and that will increase the black population and reduce the white population.

  • DecentAmerican

Just curious to all the black readers out there, but does being black mean that you are not allowed to date white, and you are not permitted to think independently and be a Repub? Because I thought that the end of slavery, which the republicans helped fight to end while the democrats wanted to continue slavery, meant that you were now free to do what you want.

I didn’t realize that you were still enslaved to do and think. So many good Repubs died to set you free, and yet now you want to be enslaved by Democrats. I don’t understand, pls explain why you like to be enslaved?

Again, flood these racists will all we have and tell them to stop this ignorance and hate.

Find Rob Parker email address and flood it with a response. Let these people know how you feel about their RACIST COMMENTS.

Any time we hear this sort of hate, do something and get your opinions out there without hate and make your comments nice but to the point.

Racialist Writer Seeks to Sack RGIII, Fails

[On a special on the Comcast SportsNet channel, RGIII acknowledged
but downplayed the fact that there are fans who admire him for being
a black quarterback. He told host Chick Hernandez:

“I don’t play too much into the color game, because I don’t want to be
the best African American quarterback, I want to be the best quarterback…
Whoever I can go out every week and motivate to do better and to try to
go after their dreams, I’m up for that.

Supporting RGIII and his post-racial play, member of the Project 21 black
leadership network are speaking out against how Rob Parker is trying to
reduce D.C.’s football phenomenon to more racial terms.”

Project 21 member Hughey P. Newsome said:

    “Parker’s comments are extremely
disheartening, but they do reveal a truth.

Parker, like so many others, feels that blacks cannot support anything remotely conservative — in this case, the Republican Party. His words reveal that so many can only see life through the lens of race, and that so many do not believe in the diversity of thought in the black community. These are not the ideals for which we fought during the civil rights movement. Worse yet, they are self-inflicted.”

Demetrius Minor, another Project 21 member, added:

Rob Parker’s arrogance and racial comments regarding Robert Griffith III continues to show how liberals invoke race at almost all times to elude from a substantive discussion. The fact that the legitimacy of RGIII’s skin tone is being discussed over his athletic ability is quite appalling and offensive. We will continue to condemn this rhetoric and press forward to a time where race is no longer used as a chip on the shoulder.

And Project 21 member Archbishop Council
Nedd II, an ardent Redskins fan, noted:

Rob Parker needs a ticket to the Player
Haters Ball from the old “Chappelle’s Show.”

People such as Parker need to get over this crab pot mentality, where blacks seem to continually feel the need to drag down a black American who gains notoriety. The black community is the only group that does this. Remember when Jesse Jackson criticized got caught on a hit mic complaining about Barack Obama “talking down” to the black community?

If an Italian-American does something of note, that’s when they are
considered most Italian. When a Jewish person does something of
note, that when they are most Jewish. But the black community
seems to be a community of haters. When a black person gains
some fame, the “community” quickly brands them a sellout.

RGIII has the potential to be best quarterback the NFL has ever seen. RGIII
is focused on his job and doing it well. RGIII is not to be faulted for that, but
    rather applauded.

As for Rob Parker, he needs to stop being
a hater and focus on his own career.”

  • Jack Burton

Sweet Jesus. What are you going to tell us next? That he supports the military?

  • gastorgrab

“….having a white girlfriend, and possibly being a Republican”

The KKK used to hang black men for this same reason.

  • Bilge Rat

First Costas had to open his big pie hole and show the world his liberal bias, now it appears to be contagious among so-called sports journalists. So, If you’re black I guess you have to “tow the line” and be a cookie cutter black or else? Didn’t Martin Luther King Jr say – “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” I mean don’t you just wish sports reporters would report on sports and stay out of politics. I like RG III, I wish I had a whole team full of guys like him and Tebow. I’m getting sick of ESPN!

  • gastorgrab

“Although there was no organizational structure above the local level, similar groups arose across the South adopted the same name and methods.[18] Klan groups spread throughout the South as an insurgent movement during the Reconstruction era in the United States. As a secret vigilante group, the Klan targeted freedmen and their allies; it sought to restore white supremacy by threats and violence, including murder, against black and white Republicans. “

  • USMC Thomas

If a white sports commentator had questioned RG3’s blackness because he had a white fiancee we all know the Jackson/Sharpton uproar would last until the commentator was fired.

  • Will

I wonder how long it’ll be ’till he chimps out and OJ’s his white concubine?

  • briscuit

So, as this guy said: Democrats are racist. This p r i c k certainly is. RGIII is a stand up man, period. I am sorry he is going to be hounded with such ignorance~~

  • Ray

ESPN is a joke. Bunch of white, northeastern libs who wish they were not in sports. Constantly pushing a social agenda, whether it be gay issues, gun control, race, all that crap.
Ever seen Parker? He is as ignorant and foolish as it comes.

  • Texas_Treeroach

But what could be more perfect?
He’s happy — and she CERTAINLY is!
But then, there’s always the dark cloud Republicanism!

  • he won’t be fired for this. ESPN has been anti-white since the day it started. they were the leaders of the lynch mob for the duke lacrosse team or as ESPN referred to them rich white boys.

  • free`

Most of the racism in America today comes from the black community.

  • Nelle

It used to be that a few drops of blood was enough to make you black for life no matter what you said or did. Now you have to keep proving you’re black no matter how dark your skin looks.

  • dwdude

so, being white and applying this morons logic, i could determine that any white guy that listens to rap, has a black girlfriend and is a democrat is not one of us. the sad part is the media will give this dope a pass because of his protective skin pigment.

  • Rusek Wielke

ESPN should not have allowed this discusting comment to be on the air. I personally will never watch ESPN again. What Mr. Griffin does in his personal life is nobody’s business,
And as for parker, to quote what another stupid broadcaster named ballantine said to Juan Williams concerning the PBS disaster, ” go back to your porch”. parker and ballantine two bigoted bookends fascinating.

  • apodoca

I read the story about the engagement. It sounds very much like he got not just his family’s approval but also hers. That’s a traditional guy. That’s wonderful. Good luck to them both. May God bless their betrothal and marriage.

  • The Central Scrutinizer

    @ Jack Burton #19.

Both Griffin’s Mom and Dad are are retired Army Sargeants.
Exceptional Parents = Exceptional Young Man.

  • squeaky

rob parker opens his mouth and out comes stupid. Robert Griffin has the kind of well developed all around record that will enable him to be a success in a world beyond the football field. you can’t say the same for many others whose one way road to success ends up derailed by injury or other unanticipated events. living high off the hog one day and scratching up change just for mc donalds the next.

  • what?

And no one mentions that he plays for the REDSKINS. Seriously the REDSKINS!

  • So, if he was having sex with every girl that he met, was a thug, or whatever, THEN he’d be a ‘brother’? REALLY?!!!! How RACIST can a person BE?!! I applaud him for being a stand up guy, and not following the crowd of his peers. It takes a REAL man to go against the flow and separate yourself from those who are against a better life.
Although, my personal beliefs don’t agree with a mixed race couple; just because he’s dating a white girl, that doesn’t change HIS race. This is the STUPIDEST thing I’ve heard in a while. And they act like, if he IS a Republican, that that’s a dirty word somehow. WOW!!!! The liberals are the most intolerant, racist, hateful bunch of people I’ve heard of!!!

  • Adirondack Patriot

Obama’s daddy had a white girlfriend — his MOMMA!

  • creeper

We have come full circle. When I was young, fifty years ago, white women were degraded if they dated black men. How things have changed.

  • SRV

    Parker is a Goofball!!

  • Ray

I have Melungeon roots on my dad’s side. Therefore,I have have some authentic, albeit scant, slave blood. That makes me more authentically black than Obama.

  • carrier pigeon

Well, if it’s a choice between his fiancee and his “black buddy” guys …. I dunno ….. not much of a choice, I’d say.

  • Kissmygrits

RG3 is a Christian, too. Must have used all that one up on Tebow.

The funny part is… I’m reading a lot of “You,” “They” and “Them”, and animal reference comments on this post which is absolutely interesting for those attempting in their minds of being open to multicultural inclusion. Good job with your pyscho analysis. FAIL :/ Seriously

Check your own racist meter silly humans…

  • MT Geoff

It does seem bizarre that, fifty years after we got rid of miscegenation laws that prohibited relationships between “black” and “white” people, we have people demanding relationships be limited by race.
I have no idea if Mr. Griffin is stand-up or sleazy, if he is Republican or Democrat or NBPP, if his sweetheart is intelligent or a fool, if he treats her well or poorly. I do have an idea that he should make his own choices and they should be judged by the outcomes — if they should be judged at all — rather than by anyone’s skin color.
I’ve seen a T-shirt that said “I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motivations questioned.”

  • Hugh

So people are only free to act a certain way or have certain thoughts based on their race? Are you kidding me? This guy Parker is a RACIST of the highest (or lowest depending on your perspective) order. What he is really saying is that Griffin doesn’t think the way they do and doesn’t toe the line so he must be destroyed, undermined, and ridiculed. People like Griffin need to open their own eyes to what they are really doing. This is intolerance beyond belief. Appalling.

  • Objective Analysis

RGIII is a product of a military family. His love life is no different than roughly half or more of the NFL. Interracial relationships are on the rise. Period. But, this “one of us” statement is just crazy. One, RGIII chooses not to expose his private political leanings. He is allowed that under the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. He also should not be prosecuted for his beliefs. Ali was cheered for defending his faith and now this clown (Parker) thinks if a black person walks differently than another (does not speak ebonics, not involved in criminal and immoral activity) then he is not black enough. I am glad people put pressure on ESPN and suspended Rob Parker. The guy is a slimmer version of Whitlock. Seeking fame by talking about a non-football related event.

RGIII can play. He can lead. Especially after Doug Williams led the Redskins to the Superbowl and won, it is nice to see an intelligent black man (not defined by other shifty blacks) be his own man and his parents raised him to be. I just like to see him be a heck of a quarterback. Lead his team to victory and do it exceptionally well with his stats and be a model person for all to see.

With comments like Parker, I see why it is tiring for blacks to continue to achieve success and want to veer away from Parker like folks who want you categorized in a box of politics, social views, etc…

Accept diversity is what people preach, but in this Communist/Fascist/Marxist movement, they only want their version of diversity accepted. Pathetic.

  • debiesam

Hey, if RG3 is not black because he has a white girlfriend, does that mean his girlfriend is not white because she has a black boyfriend? And if she’s not white, then how can you say he’s not black — because his girlfriend is not white after all! Who’s on First?

  • citizenjane

I hope RGIII continues to be the class act he’s been. Damn the racist clowns that would belittle him.

The Redskins are lucky to have him. Cowboy fan, here.

  • TheMaine1

Rob Parker sees something in RGIII but he simply got confused and didn’t look deep enough. RGII is a classic case of jock who has a white wife as G-A-Y coverup. RGIII seems a little sweet. No real black women would tolerate or be blind to the fact he was sweet and black women could sniff that out in a minute. There are a certain type of oblivious white women out there that simple lack the ability to see past the money, fame, physical body, athlete, smokescreen. He is a 100% undercover brother.
