Obama Sell-Off Accelerates: Dow Drops 294 Points in Reaction to Obama Win

The stock market dropped 294 points today in reaction to the Obama landslide victory last night.
Obviously, his promise to increase taxes, increase spending and increase regulations is having an impact on the market.

Lots of selling to take advantage of the lower cap gains and dividend rates in 2012 vs. 2013+.

Another Pyrrhic victory for the communists. With each win they bring more death and darkness upon themselves.

I can say, without equivication, that I will be more than happy to write that check to the IRS next year for far less money than we have the past 10. Downsizing was the right move afterall.
You parasites enjoy. In a few years, you will have killed your host and I can’t wait to hear your cries.

Obama is the knife and liberals just slit their own wrists

The market selloff is temporary. The inflationary policies of the Obama administration will actually cause equity prices to turn up, even as unemployment and underemployment continues to rise over the next few years. Commodities will also rise, bringing significant inflationary pressure to bear upon consumer goods prices. Gasoline, food, you can expect double-digit inflation in those prices over the next year or so. Obama will knee jerk for price controls, and those will result in shortages everywhere. Hurricane Sandy is a good preview of what Obama’s America will be like over much of the next four years, and frankly, until the end of time. Half the country pays no taxes and gets a check from the government. Why would those people ever vote to stop the checks? Work is hard. Work sucks. It’s fun to stay home on the couch.

Where were the Republicans? Every Republican I know would have crawled over burning coals to vote this year and somehow we didn’t even match McCain?

In 2008 I walked straight into my polling place on election day and voted for McCain, no waiting. This year I waited in line for 2 hours just to vote early. But our turnout was lower this year? We had a 15% increase in EV in OH but our turnout fell?

    Sorry, but bullsh*t.

You’re right, it has nothing to do with Europe and ECB head Mario Draghi’s comments.

    THAT WAS NOT a landslide….

    Bill Mitchell #6
I was thinking the same thing. Were Republicans standing in line to vote for Obama or
did they just not show up for the most important election of our lives?
Makes no sense, and the whole thing just smells!

  • Dan in Not Chicago, Illinois

Bill Mitchell, allow me to introduce you to what those of us in the Not Chicago part of Illinois already know full well, the Chicago rigged election. You don’t think they actually counted the votes do you? They just announced the results they needed to declare Obama the winner. I have a feeling all of the swing states got a crash course in Chicago election counting.

With the DOW tanking (-300) today, who’s the BIG winner?

China Auto Logistics Inc. primarily engages in the sale and trading of imported automobiles in the People’s Republic of China.

It doesn’t matter what candidate the Republicans run for office. The mainstream media have to power to destroy anyone that doesn’t align with their ideology. The liberal MSM are the information gatekeepers and they set and control the narrative the public sees. Unfortunately most people still rely on the regular press for their information. So feed the public manufactured agendas and a false narrative and you dupe a wide segment of society into seeing things from your point of view. Unless conservatives can gain the reins of the mass media and use it to their advantage then I forever see a losing battle.

  • SM-WI

#15–As a former Illinoisss resident for 25 years, know very well the Chicago style rigged elections. Thus, all the bussing in of poll workers to other states….and they call it turning out the base….

    AC/DC – Spoilin’ For A Fight Lyrics

    I see trouble coming man,
Well I’m coming to a fork,
    Sliding down a road,
    Gonna lick ‘em on down,
    We’re gonna run right out,
    I’m a fighting fool,
    And I’m hungry for you,
Well I’m living on a line,
    I’m protecting my life,
Rock with me, come on come on,

You’re only spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,

    Make your heart beat thump,
    Make your starter jump,
    You’re running on time,
    Then you’re fighting all night,
    With my rocking shoes,
    ‘cuz I’m hungry for you,
Well I’m living on the line,
All my life, rock with me,
Come on come on, you want it

    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Tryin’ to make it right,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Trying to make it right,

    You betta stand your ground,
And keep out of my town,
    To live another day,

    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Trying to make it right,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
    Spoilin’ for a fight,
‘cuz I’ve gotta make it right,
    Fighting all night,
‘cuz I’m spoilin’ for a fight

the lay-offs started right after the election in ’08, too. asnd never stopped.
In the Depression in 1937 the economy wasshowing significant signs of life. FDR knew that the companines in thge US wre making money. But they were not hiring.
FDER was enraged and ordered Congerss to pass a “Windfall Profits tax” to punishe the businesses for sitting on the dough…
Gee tha tworked well and the US was in the depression for another 4 yrs. As FDR is an icon of Obama ,as he says, business should look fwd to that…

  • Doug Edelman

Don’t know that selloff is reaction to election – more likely the news from Greece and that another us credit downgrade is imminent. Still, the election isn’t going to help the markets, or the economy.

  • Joanne

People are so quick to accept the election results, but who counted your votes? Dear Lord, an election stolen – is Obama wonderfully corrupt or not!!!

“As the largest election results reporting company in the US, SOE provides reports right down to the precinct level. But before going anywhere else, those election returns are routed to individual, company servers where the people who run them “…get ‘first look’ at results and the ability to immediately and privately examine vote details throughout the USA.” In short, “this redirects results …to a centralized privately held server which is not just for Ohio, but national; not just USA-based, but global.””

“The American advocacy group Project Vote has concluded that SCYTL’s internet voting system is vulnerable to attack from the outside AND the inside, a situation which could result in “…an election that does not accurately reflect the will of the voters…” Talk about having a flair for understatement!”

“It has also been claimed that SCYTL CEO Pere Valles is a socialist who donated heavily to the 2008 Obama campaign and lived in Chicago during Obama’s time as Illinois State Senator. Unfortunately, given what is known about the character of Barack Obama, such rumors must be taken as serious threats to the integrity of the 2012 vote and the legitimate outcome of the election.”

  • Joanne

In Canada, there is a paper ballot and you must provide picture ID and a receipt from a bill to show residence the same as the ID. Now in the U.S. there is no paper trail. The U.S. was set up for election fraud of the largest magnitude. Where is your paper trail to check? You DON’T have one. Republicans will never win another election….ever.

Next carbon tax to tackle fiscal problem and pay off debt. Get ready everything will be expensive soon.

There are some economists that are saying we are now in a recovery. Tell that to the DOW.

  • Minky Wench

Just wait until the EPA regulations and defense contrator layoffs take place. Zippy made sure this information didn’t get reported prior to the election. He doesn’t have to worry what anyone thinks anymore. Just wait, the proggies won’t like it any more than we do—count it!

  • Blacque Jacques Shellacque

Just wait, the proggies won’t like it any more than we do—count it!

Sweet justice would if those same “proggies” were disproportionately affected by defense cutbacks.

  • Selling off to avoid taxes? But…why? Our leader Obama has said that taxes don’t affect anything and its only their fair share!

  • squeaky

even the people who banked on having nothing to lose and everything to gain will lose.
[Unable to face the fact they made a colossal mistake in 2008, sufficient Americans voted to keep a president who broke more promises than he kept, who set historic new debt limits, created four consecutive trillion-dollar budget deficits, failed to achieve his own employment goals and accepted responsibility for nothing, except what SEAL Team 6 did for us.]
