FOX News is streaming video from the hearing.

The House is holding a closed door hearing today with top ranking intelligence and other officials.
FOX News reported:

The House and Senate intelligence committees are both holding closed oversight hearings Thursday where a roster of top-ranking intelligence and other officials are set to testify. These include Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and CIA Acting Director Michael Morell, who was tapped to replace David Petraeus after he resigned last Friday.

Petraeus, though, has agreed to speak to the intelligence committees about Libya, with back-to-back appearances before the House and Senate panels scheduled for Friday morning. Those, too, will be closed to the public.

While the round of closed hearings is a start, other lawmakers are calling for a more robust inquiry into what happened before, during and after the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi which left four Americans dead. The House Foreign Affairs Committee is holding an open hearing Thursday morning, but it mostly features analysts not involved in the Benghazi attack response. Lawmakers announced that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, though, is expected to testify before the committee next month.

  3. OT – Sirens are sounding in Tel Aviv. Missile fell just outside Rishon Lezion, a large city 9 miles from Tel Aviv.
Crap. I’m scared for friends and family.

  4. Tom Cat Petraeus sending troops to their deaths in Iraq and Adfghanistan, all the while lacking the moral character required to do so.

  5. Nothing new is going to come from these hearings……….They will continue to lie and cover

  6. #4 Redwine … lifting up the situation in prayer, I know it is not much and I cannot image the fear you have for your family and friends, but just wanted to let you know there are many of us out here who are in prayer for Israel.

  7. Thank you, TeachX3. Prayers are so important right now. I lived through wars, missile attacks and bombings in Israel. Praying gave us strength.

  9. This whole thing smells like a set up. It’s beginning to look Obama is PURGING the military’s leaders. The left railed against Petreaus until he became usefull to Obama. Obama’s puppetmaster and his sites like Move on. Org railed against Petreaus, and then all of a sudden scrubbed all that when Obama had need of him. Ever hear of the historic LONG NIGHT OF KNIVES? That’s where Hitler murdered all of his political opponents. Obama is starting to do the same thing, only not killing them…yet.

they need to ASK THE PEOPLE ON THE GROUND WHAT THEY NEED.. not
sit around a table blubbering on like they actually know what’s best for
them, when it’s clear they have no clue.. what century is this?? gah!!

    Breaking The War Mentality
    by Barack Obama
    March 10, 1983

[In 1933 the German establishment thought it could use Hitler to restore a modicum of order to the confused and confusing Weimar Republic. In fact, Hitler did strengthen the German establishment, but not exactly in the way the bankers and businessmen had wanted; and now, fifty years later, it is clear who was using whom. Nevertheless, the Western World did not complain in 1933 because Hitler, though a fascist and a totalitarian, was seen, like countless American puppet dictators today, as someone who leaves the established order in place.

Not so the Greens. If a group of young, anti-establishment pacifists wiith unusual ideas and uncomfortable answers to hard questions terrifies us more today than Hitler, Himmler, Goering and Goebbels did back in 1933, our terror says more about us than it does about the Greens or the Germans. It indicates that we have failed to comprehend the meaning of Nazism and blind obedience to authority in their full horror, and that we, unlike the Greens, have yet ourselves to learn the democratic lesson that we have taught the Germans so well.]

  12. The closed meetings are the necessary prelude to the open hearings. Classified information should not be discussed on C-SPAN. That said, it is typical for the executive branch to be over-enthusiastic about claiming that already-public information is “classified.”

Anyone who lived through the actual Watergate scandal will know that this is going to be a long slog.

i agree it will be dragged out, perhaps even
longer than the Kennedy assassination.. :-(

    that said..

imho Watergate should be a null and void topic, never mind comparison,
as so many heinous events have surpassed it much more recently and
many times over, that a “new standard” would be hard to come by, but
Benghazi would certainly be a more realistic benchmark, at least it’s “up
there” when comes to how it affects the average American so to speak..

it’s way past time to bury the obsolete “Watergate” comparison
to everything and anything since Bush caused the Big Bang.. /s/

Risking lives to save ‘hero’ Obama

[“The Obama administration now confirms to a federal court that it released sensitive information to help with a film that was set to portray Barack Obama as ‘gutsy.’ If this is true, then the Obama administration was lying to the American people when it said the leaks were no big deal,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The public has a right to get to the bottom of this scandal and the Obama administration should comply with the open records law and disclose the names that were leaked.”]

  15. At the most fundamental level, the reason it is absurd to suspect the existence of a “cover-up” over the Benghazi attack is that such a cover-up could not have had any conceivable goal. Back to the beginning: the underlying accusation about Benghazi is that the Obama administration deliberately mischaracterised the terrorist attack there as having grown out of a spontaneous demonstration because that would be less politically damaging. Such a cover-up would have made no sense because the attack would not have been less politically damaging had it grown out of a spontaneous demonstration. The attack on the Benghazi compound would not have been any less politically difficult for the administration if it had grown out of a riot, nor would any normal voter have expected it to be less politically damaging, nor would any normal campaign strategist have expected any normal voter to have expected it to be less politically damaging.

  17. OT: I am so angry over the cover-up about Benghazi.

How about if we put a sign in the back windows of our cars? One word:

    BENGHAZI
