Final Election Results Show Democrat-Media Complex Won By Lying to & Withholding Information From American Public

In case you missed it, here’s a reminder of Barack Obama’s disastrous record:

** Trillion dollar deficits from here to eternity.

(J. Hoft Chart)

** $5 trillion to national debt in a little over 3 years.
Another record.

(Heritage)

** Barack Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression.
** Barack Obama owns the largest four deficits in history.
** Barack Obama added $5 trillion to the US debt in just over three years – another record.
** The so-called recovery is the worst of the modern era – the second quarter GDP slid to 1.5% .
** Obama blew a trillion dollars on a failed stimulus.
** More Americans are on food stamps today than ever.

This is just a start. By all measures, Barack Obama has the worst economic record of any modern day president.  And, his foreign policy has made the world a much more dangerous place.

But, you never heard these facts from the mainstream media these past four years.
They were too busy cheering for Obama – no matter the cost to the American people. And, their behavior was no different during the election year.

Despite his devastating record most Americans went to the polls uninformed and believed Barack Obama would represent him. They believed this even though the economy was the number one concern this year.  There’s a reason for this. The Democrat-media complex never told them the truth.

Jay Cost wrote about the missing voters today at The Weekly Standard, via Power Line.

It was not merely a failure to attract Hispanics and, to a lesser extent, African Americans into the GOP coalition (preliminary data actually suggest that Barack Obama won fewer African Americans in 2012 than he did in 2008). There seems to have been an overall hesitation among many types of voters—white or not—about entering the GOP coalition. It looks as though many backed Obama over Romney, and many more simply chose not to vote.

An examination of the exit poll makes it easy to see why. Obama’s campaign against Romney, which portrayed him as an out-of-touch plutocrat, appears largely to have been successful. Romney’s favorable rating in the exit poll was just 47 percent, with 50 percent holding an unfavorable view. By 53 to 43 percent, voters said that Obama was “more in touch with people like” them, and by a staggering 53 percent to 34 percent, they said Romney’s policies would favor the rich instead of the middle class.

In other words, Romney lost in large part because of a yawning empathy gap. Typically, this plagues Republican candidates to some degree, even victorious ones, but it was pronounced this year, and appears to have been determinative. The voters who showed up on Election Day identified more closely with Obama than Romney, and those who stayed home presumably identified with neither. Importantly, this problem transcended age, race, ethnicity, and gender. Compared with Bush in 2004, Romney simply failed to connect with people.

Mitt Romney did several things right this year. He scored a historic debate victory. He picked a popular conservative running mate. But he couldn’t get his message out to the masses despite improved efforts by the Republican Party. The Democrat-media complex was just too formidable an opponent. Liberal media cranks are still too influential with their bias and dishonesty. If Republicans want to improve their chances in the years ahead, they must make progress in this area.
