FBI Agents Were Outraged That Obama Decided to Delay Petraeus’ Resignation Until After the Election

Apparently, FBI agents were outraged that Obama decided to delay the resignation of David Petraeus until after the election.

Newsmax reported, via Power Line:

At some point after Petraeus was sworn in as CIA director on Sept. 6, 2011, the woman broke up with him. However, Petraeus continued to pursue her, sending her thousands of emails over the last several months, raising even more questions about his judgment.

FBI agents on the case expected that Petraeus would be asked to resign immediately rather than risk the possibility that he could be blackmailed to give intelligence secrets to foreign intelligence agencies or criminals. In addition, his pursuit of the woman could have distracted him as the CIA was giving Congress reports on the attack on the Benghazi consulate on Sept. 11.

Still, the White House, with concurrence by the FBI and Justice Department, held off on asking for Petraeus’ resignation until after the election. His resignation occurred three days after the election, avoiding the possibility that Obama’s ill-fated appointment of Petraeus could become an issue in the election.

FBI agents on the case were aware that such a decision had been made to hold off on forcing him out until after the election and were outraged.

“The decision was made to delay the resignation apparently to avoid potential embarrassment to the president before the election,” an FBI source says. “To leave him in such a sensitive position where he was vulnerable to potential blackmail for months compromised our security and is inexcusable.”

another “perfumed” general disgraced. His greatness in the battlefield is greatly exaggerated. Yes I am ex-military, and its a disgraced all these general/admirals have become politicians at the expense of there troops.

  • dba_vagabond_trader

Guess the FBI hasn’t noticed Hussein doesn’t give a flip about national security or anything else that protects American interests.

He’s not the first, nor will he be last, man to succumb to a femme fatale.

  • dba_vagabond_trader

Just remember, it was Petraeus who first scolded Terry Jones about burning a koran around the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Now it was Martin Dempsey who called Jones about the so called vid. These generals have no respect for the 1st amendment. Payback is a beetch.

  • ★FALCON★

As a side note to the Obama Administration’s latest debacle – might as well give the Taliban and Al-Qaida Afghanistan. Who wants to be the parents of the last man killed in this mess?

Afghanistan is over. No leadership in the White House and none at the top in the CIA or military.

  • Redlite

I hope she was worth it!
His reputation has been destroyed by the other woman.

This explaines why he was so quiet about Benghazi, I would have expected him to more forcfully defend the CIA in the aftermath of that disaster. He still should appear before Congress and ‘splain wtf happened..

I’m betting a nickel this game changer story was leaked to a journOlist somewhere and was promptly covered up / sat on until after the election.

  • Joanne

Perhaps it risked national security, but it wouldn’t matter politically. Obama cheated his way into the Whitehouse, like any good communist would. I thought Petraeus was beyond reproach anyhow….just ask bg.

  • These squealing FBI piglets are just as culpable. Don’t they know how to dial a telephone or send email or send out a carrier pigeon? With all the damaging leaks of national security information that have occurred and been plastered on the front page of the New York Slimes and the Washington Compost, there is no excuse for at least ONE of these “outraged patriots” to have leaked it before the election…NO EXCUSE.

  • I dunno if how much of this he did or didn’t do, but militarily Petraeus was AWESOME… The Hero of Baghdad was the first general since McArthur (Korea) to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in such a way, turning an almost impossible disaster into American victory

    #14 Reaganite Republican-

Let me ask you a question. How many of those hearts and minds of the Iraq’s citizens are still on the side of the US? Just as with the freeloaders in this country, once the candy bars, balls and dollar bills are gone, and the US has moved on, who do you think those won over Iraq citizen’s are supporting now? I would say that being threatened with the removal of your head is a very strong deterent to supporting any American or American policies/ideas.

Obama insured that he snatched defeat from any gains we may have made in Iraq when he pulled every last American troop out of the country.

Hate to admit it, but I guess the liberals were right when they called him General David BetrayUS.

Oh no! Listening to radio and just heard that Obama won Florida. The good news is Nate Silver got that one wrong. I was worried he would correctly predict all 50 states. He only got 49 right! Hahaha. If he would have had a perfect score, we never would hear the end of it!

  • GotFreedom

Welcome to the new United States of Amerika!!! This is who we are now; this is who is running our country and our lives–thank you very much to all the voters out there! Don’t come crying to us when you lose your job/your home/have no money/no food. . .this is what you voted for and now you have to live with IT! We are totally disgusted by the majority of our fellow countrymen and women who voted AGAIN for the most corrupt, lying, evil person to head up our country!

“…to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in such a way, turning an almost impossible disaster into..” barry corrected that in a hurry. if barry was willing to declare iraq a lost cause he might find more commitment in making it so..self fullfilling prophecy. the outcome that benefitted him
“If Barack Obama’s policy in Iraq had been implemented, he couldn’t be in Iraq today,” Lieberman said, adding that Obama “was prepared to accept retreat and defeat.”
Obama’s expected arrival in Baghdad is part of a multi-country trip that included a Saturday stop in Afghanistan, where the Illinois senator says he would send more U.S. troops to bolster the fight against the Taliban and al Qaeda.

I don’t want to live in the United States of Amerika! Any ideas on countries that are still free? I speak a little Spanish, so I’m thinking somewhere in Central or South America. Does anyone know if I can still get my Social Security if I move to another country?

  • Winston Wolfe

    And this is surprising, how?

  • SunnyJS

The only thing that allows evil to succeed is for good men/women to stand by and do nothing. There is no excuse for the FBI agents that were so “outraged” to not speak up and speak out. If everyone did that, with the knowledge of the corruption in this administration, instead of rationalize its just about them and their job security…we’d get out from under this mess. Obama and his administration is evil, no doubt. But, you are not excused to be part of it and stand by and let your country get royally screwed to save your own ass. Stand up or know that you are one of them.

  • Monkey Wrench

What can we do, SunnyJS? How do we stand up against this? The election is over. Do we have to wait until the next election?

  • kato

I’ve lost count of the flag-waving morons who called Gallagher, Medved, Hewitt, etc. wanting their newfound hero to be a on the GOP presidential ticket. His major accomplishment was covering the Compassionate Dope’s ass.

They knew absolutely nothing about the guy except for what the right-wing radio hucksters had told them, but that was enough to infatuate them beyond all reason.

From Christine O’Donnell to the black godfather of pizza. Cartoon conservatives will fall in love with anyone — absolutely anyone. Donald Trump, Joe the Plumber, Todd the Bible-thumper, and, of course, the sainted Madame Palin with her reality-show famiily and her high-school cheerleader style of politics. Just be pro-life and keep yelling “We the people” and the true patriots will swoon. Just like the Founders intended, right?

  • Oliver

    woop-de-doo. Too little too late.
And so what? nothing will happen.

That’s why Dems win elections. They don’t play by the rules.
GOP better learn to do the same.

But I’m not holding my breath.

  • owl

I call BS on all of it. To be exact, I am beginning to think better of Petraeus.

I am seeing a story forming. If you leak out a few emails each day/week it should put a damper on anything Petraeus says.

The Professional Poop Scoopers are in full attack mode. Question……………….

What makes Scoopers scoop? You see them scoop on Benghazi? No, Krauhammer. It is not enough to be a sexual fiasco to make them.

Did you see them get all excited about a really BIG juicy sex scandal w/baby/dying woman w/cancer VP candidate Edwards? No. They went into The Silence.

Everytime you read one of these fact forming tales, ask yourself why the Scoopers love it.

  • owl

#1. I do not believe what I just read. FBI is so outraged about this affair and they just ‘happened’ upon it. BS. We could be blackmailed with national security at risk? LOL

If we were not at risk with Monica under the desk with someone half her age who just happened to be married and sitting on the red button……………..BS.

    I am reading fairy tales.

  • owl

It is not enough that Petraeus admitted to the affair. Now Obama will have FBI feed Poop Scoopers a dib & dab to leak each day. Nothing they like more than to be active reporters. That is too funny.

  • Oliver

#25 MonkeyWrench – yes, you can collect your Social Security in other countries. I live in Mexico because nobody really cares what you do here, few laws are enforced, and a small bribe will get you out of most scrapes.

Decent gov’t medical insurance will cost you a couple hundred dollars a year or you can pay as you go — a minor emergency visit in a nice private hospital will cost you about $30.

Oh, and the weather is great.

  • owl

Oliver……………….I happen to agree with you about the rules.

It is not the people but the ELECTED voices. I have only been shouting it for about 10 years or more. Don’t think they can hear me. Yep. I use to call them.

If not the ELECTED voices, at least someone could take a page off the journolists and as a collective group, make a dent. Do they? No.

  • donh

Why didn’t they stick their neck out ? ? ?…….THIS IS WHY…….THIS STORY HIT THE NEWS ON NOVEMBER 2 AND PUT AN END TO ALL THE BENGHAZI LEAKING DOWN THE CLOSING STRETCH…..> http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/11/02/service-agent-on-obama-detail-commits-suicide-after-probe-into-affair-sources/

  • Oliver

OWL – I agree. Team O needs to kill Petraeus’ credibility before he testifies on Benghazi. They are leaking all this crap so that nobody will believe anything he says ever again.

    Sound at all familiar folks?

    Ask Sheriff Joe, for starters.

    Alinsky lives.

Btw, I know what you mean about paying off the cops. I was in Costa Rica one time and got in a fist fight with a taxi driver. The cops showed up. I just slipped one of them $20 and he smiled and told me I was free to leave. Wish our cops were more like that!

Petraeus was the head of the CIA until yesterday – watchout Obama.

You know it’s funny you say that. My parents went to Cuba on their honeymoon and there is a good chance I was conceived there. My dad likes to say that was BC – Before Castro!

  • Oliver

    #38 – monkey wrench

How truthful were the US media in this last election?

Why on earth would you believe what you hear about Mexico?

99% of the violent drug crime occurs in 2 or 3 places.

I walk alone at night here with NO worries.

  • arnonerik

Obama was worried that this news would compromise his reelection. Doesn’t that put the President in a position that he could be blackmailed by foriegn agents who could threaten to reveal the information Obama wanted to hide?

  • Ron

Well if the FBI was really unhappy they could have leaked to the press. Oh wait, that wouldn’t work the MSM is part of the Obama White House.

  • The FBI ‘investigation’ of Pretraeus shows that the FBI is an out of control abusive agency that needs to be brought to it knees. Fire Mueller and break the FBI up into several different agencies and keep only a criminal investigation function at the FBI and put all other functions under Homeland Security where they belong. Obama has the opportunity to do this after his re-election, we shall see if he has the stones to finally reel in the American Gestapo, the FBI.

I was a Boy Scout, served in the Navy, and was a volunteer Firefighter for 13 years.

The United States of America does not need to become more like the cruel dictatorships of the United Nations Human Rights Council. The United States should return to the ideals that has made it great.

The NDAA and the Patriot Act and the Cyber Security Bill should be repealed, we have plenty of laws to protect our Freedoms and Rights with out these and these laws do not protect our Freedoms or Rights, but take them away. We need our Bill of Rights back. The Bill of Rights and our Constitution is what makes us different from dictatorships. It is why people from all over the world want to come here.

The Nations of the United Nations Human Rights Council do not support Human Rights or Freedoms or they would give the people of their own countries some human rights and freedoms.

The United Nations is for gun control, it is one of the ways they control their people.

United Nations Human Rights Council lately has included nations like these: China, Nigeria, Madagascar, Algeria, Egypt, Malaysia, Libya, Kenya, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.

Countries have sought membership of the Commission not to strengthen human rights but to protect themselves against criticism or to criticize others.

Jul 6, 2012 – Syria is Running for Seat on UN Human Rights Council and May Win.

Odd that the nations in the council have the worst records on human rights and very little personal freedom isn’t it ?

Women and children in some of these countries have no rights at all. Their human rights records are horrible and continue to be horrible today.

Josef Stalin, former dictator of the USSR and murderer of 30 million people, infamously supported Gun control. Adolf Hitler supported gun control and murdered 7 million people. Chairman Mao suported gun control and was responsible for the death of 70 Million People. Guess where Kim Jong-il stood on Gun Control.

Take the arms away from your citizens and you have complete control.

If you want to be for Gun Control, you join a list of some of the most evil and murderous dictators of the world. For Socialism to take over in the United States, we will have the same thing here. Hundreds of millions dead and in Concentration Camps, the electrical power grid down, all communications down, all utilities down, transportation impossible, cities in flames, and more than likely a foreign power or NATO with troops here to help us in our hour of need.

Socialism is a very cute thing when they teach it in school, in real life through history it has been horrible and continues to be horrible today. It leads to poverty, starvation, and death. The secret police and Lawyers of the Government are rich and everyone else is poor and does not have Freedoms or Human Rights. I know that is not the way it is preached, that is the way it is in the world.

If you live in North Korea, Cuba, or China, you can not post something like this about your nice socialist government or they will come and get you and you will not be heard from again.

Obama needs to read the oath he swore when he became President. The Patriot Act, the NDAA, and the Cyber Security Bill should be repealed.

Thank a veteran what they did in World War 2 and in all of our wars since then to keep the United States free.
