Christian Cast Member of “Two and a Half Men” Tells Fans to Quit Watching Show (Video)

“Two and a Half Men” star Angus T. Jones, a Christian, tells his fans to stop watching the show.
“Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth.”

FOX News reported:

Move over Charlie Sheen. Another “Two and a Half Men” controversy is exploding.

Angus T. Jones, who has played the role of Jake Harper on the hit CBS show since 2003 and reportedly earns $350,000 an episode, is featured in a new video for the Forerunner Christian Church, in which he calls the sitcom “filth” that contradicts his devout Christian values.

That’s not all. The 19-year-old actor even urges fans to stop watching.

“I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men’ and I don’t want to be on it,” he said. “If you watch ‘Two and a Half Men,’ please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch.”

Jones goes on to express guilt that his profession may be inflicting serious damage on its audience.

“If I am doing any harm, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be contributing to the enemy’s plan … You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t,” he continued. “I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show.”

Really? So when did he quit? Hypocrite.

  • Robert

If he is just 19 and he is figuring this out and saying it, then we will see if he is a hypocrite.

In my opinion, he’s doing a good thing.

  • Hoot Gibson

The show is mindless entertainment for sure….and frankly sucks since Charlie left. At least, despite it’s useless mind numbing product, isn’t really political or a far left/Obammy suck up show…..so it’s not all bad.

Ummm…not hypocrite. Getting out of contracts in Hollywood can be difficult. Getting out of contracts due to conservative Christian values can be fatal for a career. If viewership goes down the show is cancelled and he has no lawsuits to have to pay for that would ruin his finances.

  • Redstate Red

Maybe he has a contract he can’t break? I agree he should quit the show, but I don’t know how that works in Hollyweird. He may be risking his career. He may be hoping this revelation will get him fired. Maybe this is a newly-formed opinion and he needs time to plan his next move.

Good for him for speaking up! I agree the show is trash. I watched it many years ago but I’m happy to say my family hardly watches tv at all now.

I can’t stop watching it. I would have to start, first, and I don’t see that happening.

  • shadow

    So when did he quit?

If he can’t due to a contract, he should at least donate his ill-gotten gain to charity.

He’s right, of course. The show is trash. It’s occasionally funny sexually suggestive PG-13 potty humor. On the bright side they don’t go all ‘a very special episode of Blossom’ either. Only watched it a few times before deciding it was one dimensional.

TV comedies in general are almost unwatchable since the introduction of the laugh track IMO. Hearing laughter at things that aren’t funny is creepy. The shows usually have an annoying rhythm that trains the viewer to respond with mindless patterned laughter. There are a few shows over the years that were entertaining but the current crop disappoints. Two and a half men is crude. Big Bang theory is whiny. I have friends who laugh at some of the jokes when I know they don’t even understand the random intellectual reference the joke is based upon. They laugh because it is time to laugh and the laugh track plays.

Hollywood in general has become far too vested in shaping public opinion in a negative manner. They are divisive. They have created distrust. They are brainwashing the dumb and those with a clue are starting to fight back.

  • Tim Tomlinson

The show is only popular with older, Conservatives who seem to find it titillating. No one else cares about it except maybe some twelve-year old boys.

  • BurmaShave

“Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth.”

Good advice for essentially all of what is on TV, which is almost entirely Satanic.

  • Lady Mondegreen

There’s nothing difficult about getting out of a contract. It just means losing some money. If this joker’s “faith” means less to him than the cash, then so much for his faith. Let him weep all the way to the bank.

  • squeaky

given his age and what have you he’s probably at the end of his contract. time for him to move on to college or whatever and replace him with another younger actor. the character’s name will come up in conversation every now and then. angus is probably dead angus in hollywood now.

So he earns millions of dollars total and turns around and asks people not to fill their minds with the filth he helped create and still profits from? Give me a break. What a moron. Seems a little effeminate in this video.

  • ashen

he sure doesn’t mind the paycheck though does he?

  • dnb03

If he is trying to do the right thing, I say good for him. I hope he’s able to get out of this contract, and I hope he hasn’t ended his career. I was always a little shocked that his parents allowed him to be around such filth. I don’t think he’s just taking a step away from his career, but also parents who would allow him to be in such a position. He has a lot to work through. May God help him through it.

Whole lot (get it) of “Family Values” in that bible of yours:

19:30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
19:31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
19:33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
19:34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
19:35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
19:36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
19:37 And the first born bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
19:38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

@Jeannie, who said “If viewership goes down the show is cancelled and he has no lawsuits to have to pay for that would ruin his finances.”

Scandals with actors tend to make MORE people watch a show, not less. The show will continue, this year and long after this guy’s contract is not renewed.

  • brian

People still watch TV for something other than cooking and travel shows and 1960’s western reruns?

  • Patty

Don’t care. The young man has problems emotionally. YA THINK THE SHOW HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT? I do. Nice he is a Christian, though.

Child actors, well, many turn out with emotional problems. Hopefully, Jones has found some happiness.
    Time will tell.

@ #22 what?-“Whole lot (get it) of “Family Values” in that bible of yours:”

Seriously? This is your argument against reading the Bible? For your information, the Bible is the only ancient document that accurately described the characters & events in it without white-washing all the bad they did. Unlike all the other books & stories during the time period that portrayed their characters as absolute perfect gods, the Bible tells the whole truth.

For this particular story, Lot’s daughters believed that there was no other man on earth & took matters into their own hands to re-populate the earth. Their intentions were good even though their actions were not.

Seriously? If you had an inkling of the what the Holy Bible actually taught about family values, you’d know that in no way did God approve of their actions. The fact that the Holy Bible included it just proves that it’s the whole truth & doesn’t white-wash it to sell it to you. Though the characters were real & the events actually took place, the story was included to show you to trust in God. Lot’s daughters erroroneously believed there was no other man on earth dispite the promises of God to the contrary.

The fact you posted your comment implying the Holy Word of God cannot be trusted proves yet again you didn’t learn anything from it; just like Lot’s daughters. And I bet you believe you’re morally better than them. LOL

  • Buffalobob

Wait until the Hollywood suits release the Krakens. He’ll be outed by the far left.

Christians read the bible for it’s history of our relationship with God. It tells the whole story truthfully and we learn from it.

It sounds to me like athiest liberals “read” those passages as titillating, much like the objective of the show Two and a Half Men. And they use it (the Bible) to mock and accuse Christians. How sad.

    Pedophilia in Hollywood

    Hollywood`s Dirty Secret, Sex Abuse?

[FELDMAN: I can tell you that the number one problem
in Hollywood was and is and always will be pedophilia.

PINSKY: He may be right. Thirty-five-year-old Jason James
Murphy worked as a casting agent in Hollywood for years
before it was revealed that he is a registered sex offender,
convicted of kidnapping and molesting an 8-year-old boy
    15 years ago.

Then there`s Lou Pearlman, the mastermind behind successful
`90s boy bands like the Backstreet Boys and `N Sync. In 2007,
“Vanity Fair” reported that several boy banders who worked
with Pearlman accused him of inappropriate sexual conduct.
Many of them said they had lived at his Florida mansion where
the abuse allegedly took place. However, none of the alleged
victims were willing to come forward publicly and no charges
    were ever filed.

We know this is allegedly happening in Hollywood and
in sports, but could it be happening in your backyard? ]

Recent Charges of Sexual Abuse of Children
in Hollywood Just Tip of Iceberg, Experts Say

[Another child star from an earlier era agrees that Hollywood has long had a problem with pedophilia. “When I watched that interview, a whole series of names and faces from my history went zooming through my head,” Paul Peterson, 66, star of The Donna Reed Show, a sitcom popular in the 1950s and 60s, and president of A Minor Consideration, tells FOXNews.com. “Some of these people, who I know very well, are still in the game.”

“This has been going on for a very long time,” concurs former “Little
House on the Prairie” star Alison Arngrim. “It was the gossip back in
the ‘80s. People said, ‘Oh yeah, the Coreys, everyone’s had them.’
People talked about it like it was not a big deal.”

Arngrim, 49, was referring to Feldman and his co-star in “The Lost
Boys,” Corey Haim, who died in March 2010 after years of drug abuse.

“I literally heard that they were ‘passed around,’” Arngrim said. “The
word was that they were given drugs and being used for sex. It was
awful – these were kids, they weren’t 18 yet. There were all sorts of
stories about everyone from their, quote, ‘set guardians’ on down that
these two had been sexually abused and were totally being corrupted
    in every possible way.”]

Pedophile cases in Hollywood attracting attention

[Experts say addressing the problem is overdue.

“This is just like the Catholic Church pretending that priests never molested
people in the past,” said Dr. Daniel D. Broughton, a pediatrician at the Mayo
Clinic and an expert on child sexual abuse. “What’s surprising to me is why
it hasn’t come out even stronger and sooner.”

whoa whoa he is not Franciscan, this was a big and difficult step for him to say that

    Luke 19:1-10
Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, ‘Look, Lord, I giver half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.’” And Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house.

LUV the snarky attitude, just LUV it! A kid comes around to the light side and all you can do is snark at him. LUV that!!!

    Was that snarky? Yes.

Ok, so the kid has come to a realization that his work is not morally fulfilling and even damaging to his and others’ soul. I congratulate him on that epiphany, I really do. It must be danged near impossible to see God in Hollywood for all the lights.

He’s had his mind shifted, and honestly., who has NOT had a major epiphany near that age? You realize that many of those things taught to you are not real. I remember a lot of mind-shifts at his age. I do not watch the show but I did catch a snippet of it a few weeks ago and saw his character had entered the Army. Miley Cyrus was barely recognizable as a bed mate (?) or girlfriend (?). And that was as much as I’ve seen since season 1 when I thought it was crude and decided not to watch.

Give the kid some slack. He’s growing up. Score one more for God.
