Baby Death Panels: New Study Reveals Gruesome Practice of Starving Sickly Babies in British Health System

Coming soon to America–
Baby Death Panels

A leading medical journal in Great Britain revealed the gruesome practice of starving and withdrawing fluid from sickly babies as well as terminally-ill adults.
The Daily Mail reported:

Sick children are being discharged from NHS hospitals to die at home or in hospices on controversial ‘death pathways’.

Until now, end of life regime the Liverpool Care Pathway was thought to have involved only elderly and terminally-ill adults.

But the Mail can reveal the practice of withdrawing food and fluid by tube is being used on young patients as well as severely disabled newborn babies.

One doctor has admitted starving and dehydrating ten babies to death in the neonatal unit of one hospital alone.

Writing in a leading medical journal, the physician revealed the process can take an average of ten days during which a baby becomes ‘smaller and shrunken’.

The LCP – on which 130,000 elderly and terminally-ill adult patients die each year – is now the subject of an independent inquiry ordered by ministers.

The use of end of life care methods on disabled newborn babies was revealed in the doctors’ bible, the British Medical Journal.

Earlier this month, an un-named doctor wrote of the agony of watching the protracted deaths of babies. The doctor described one case of a baby born with ‘a lengthy list of unexpected congenital anomalies’, whose parents agreed to put it on the pathway.

The doctor wrote: ‘They wish for their child to die quickly once the feeding and fluids are stopped. They wish for pneumonia. They wish for no suffering. They wish for no visible changes to their precious baby.

‘Their wishes, however, are not consistent with my experience. Survival is often much longer than most physicians think; reflecting on my previous patients, the median time from withdrawal of hydration to death was ten days.

‘Parents and care teams are unprepared for the sometimes severe changes that they will witness in the child’s physical appearance as severe dehydration ensues.

This is pure cruelty with disregard for life in its purest form. To allow anyone to withhold any forms of natural survival methods is blatant murder. To starve any human or animal goes beyond ones soul and their state of honor to life and God. These people cannot be of any arm, descending from God, only the work of the devil. There is no holyness enflicting pain and suffering onto any one to achieve death. May they meet their maker and the wrath of the Lord be swift with punishment for their horrific sins.

Imagine being that ” doctor ” who watches a baby shrink from dehydration day after day while he goes home night after night to every comfort a human being can enjoy. These things DO have an effect…

Killing babies no different from abortion, experts say

[Parents should be allowed to have their newborn babies killed
because they are “morally irrelevant” and ending their lives is
no different to abortion, a group of medical ethicists linked to
    Oxford University has argued.]

    March 03, 2012

    Throwing down the gauntlet

[Rather than being “actual persons”, newborns were “potential
persons”. They explained: “Both a fetus and a newborn certainly
are human beings and potential persons, but neither is a ‘person’
in the sense of ‘subject of a moral right to life’.

“We take ‘person’ to mean an individual who is capable of attributing to
her own existence some (at least) basic value such that being deprived
of this existence represents a loss to her.”

As such they argued it was “not possible to damage a newborn by
preventing her from developing the potentiality to become a person
    in the morally relevant sense”.]

    March 12, 2012,

    The pro-choice case for infanticide.

[When circumstances occur after birth such that they would have justified abortion, what we call after-birth abortion should be permissible. … We propose to call this practice ‘after-birth abortion’, rather than ‘infanticide,’ to emphasize that the moral status of the individual killed is comparable with that of a fetus … rather than to that of a child. Therefore, we claim that killing a newborn could be ethically permissible in all the circumstances where abortion would be. Such circumstances include cases where the newborn has the potential to have an (at least) acceptable life, but the well-being of the family is at risk.]

    Congresswoman: We’re Not ‘Promoting Sterilization’
of College Girls, We’re Just Making It Free, 3/19/12

[Rep. Schakowsky said:“You know, this attack on women’s health care
is–I think the compromise that the president has offered and that the
rulemaking from HHS, I think, is a good one. This is not about, you know,
college-age girls getting sterilization when they want it–no.”

“I mean, there may be situations where for medical reasons and
in consultation with the doctor that sterilization procedures are
warranted for the health of a young woman,” said Schakowsky.

“Contraception and related procedures, contraception was declared
one of the top 10 preventive health services of the 20th century by
the Centers for Disease Control,” said Schakowsky, “and the reason
for these regulations is to protect the health of women, women of all
ages, so that they can afford to get the preventive care that they need.”]

Hippocratic Oath: Modern Version —Written in 1964 by Louis Lasagna, Academic Dean of the School of Medicine at Tufts University

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of over-treatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug.

I will not be ashamed to say “I know not,” nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient’s recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person’s family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

My mother had a severe stroke & did not want to live.. She was able to eat only very smal amounts of jelly. Whilst in the hospital she did have a saline drip.

After about 2 weeks of this she made it known she did not want to do rehab . So she went to a Catholic Hospice where they do not use any intravenous interventions . Again they tried gels but the amounts taken wre getting smaller & smaller. After 10 days she died peacefully. She was fully aware of things & she was in no way uncomfortable. She had minimal morphine by mouth.

Every body will die. We held her hand & it was all fine.

    Death is natural.

  • Summer Love

    To American Woman .

No doctor has a right to prevent a natural & timely death.

To others – force feeding via tubes is very painful . Adults & children & babies who are dying do not need to be hooked up to machines. !0 days is a long time but what is the alternative ? Kill them off sooner or prolong their misery ?

Anyhow each to their own & remember many British are home born & like to die at home .

  • Summer Love

On the other hand my sister in law after a long experience with breast cancer was told maybe weeks to live because of rapidly advancing brain lesions. They offered Whole Brain Radiation which she decided to try.

It was horrendous experience for all & she lived 22 days -maybe no more than she may have without it. I am more traumatised by that that cruel hoax than the more gentle way of my mum . These were only a few months apart so my thoughts are clear.

  • bear

I noted the irony of the “un-named” doctor in the story who, when writing of the decision(s) the parents made, referred to the “precious baby” they were killing.

Clearly, my dictionary needs to be updated as to the new meaning of precious.

  • Evil Otto

Kill them off sooner or prolong their misery ?

Yes. Have the courage of your convictions and use a bullet, rather than prolonging suffering. If you believe that “death is natural” (and not something to be avoided), then make it quick.

Someone who starves an animal to death is thrown in jail.

  • Granny

Don’t kid yourself. This happens in American hospitals too. It was quite common in Illinois when Barack Obama was a state Senator there . . . . at least when it came to infants who survived abortion. Four times Obama stopped the introduction or passage of a bill that would have mandated that those children receive medical care rather than being put into a closet to die.

  • JenBee

    #10 November Highlander… YEP.

I’m a respiratory therapist, and I’ve seen alot of suffering before death, and I’m torn on the whole euthanasia thing. I am the one who carries out the doctor’s order to ‘unplug’ a patient from life support (the ventilator) when the family wants it. I’ve seen first hand the palliative care nurse practitioner administer lethal doses of morphine to someone while we’re waiting for them to stop breathing. And I’ve also seen the slow, painful death of a patient who has had their feeding tube withdrawn so their life will end. But in almost all of these cases, the patient has either signed a living will stating their end-of-life wishes or let a family member know their end-of-life wishes. With a baby, I think it’s different. I think we have a responsibility to save their life, because they are so innocent and precious. However, I hesitate to judge someone who has a baby who has a terminal illness or disease… I wouldn’t want ANYONE I love to suffer needlessly. This is such an awful position to be in, such a horrible choice to make. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy…

  • Summer Love

Evil Otto – I have not had to judge whether a baby’s congenial deformities are so severe as to discourage interventions – but they do have parents. I have known people who have let such babies die a natural death.

However the 2 examples I gave are real people who could not live any longer -one because they could not eat /drink & the other because breast cancer had spread to the brain & it was shutting down .

When the body can no longer support life – death comes.

Of course people with healthy bodies who are dying -eg aneurisms /accidents are often organ donors. Life is artificially prolonged to enable organ harvest. Sombody has to make the decision & control the timing. Then they die.

As for an anmal – dogs will curl up & lie down to die. They will not ccept food or water for days either. We are not allowed to euthanize people but you are right we do not like dogs to suffer.

    Your remedy is???

“Parents and care teams are unprepared for the sometimes severe changes that they will witness in the child’s physical appearance as severe dehydration ensues.”

    It worries me that he says that as though it were a bad thing. Are we really supposed to want “care teams” and “parents” who could watch something like that and then go off wondering what’s for lunch? ^_^;

  • Tim Tomlinson

Private healthcare is not illegal in England. Private healthcare counts for at least 50% of healthcare dollars in the UK.

Anyone who can afford it can get all the finest healthcare they want in the UK just like the US. And just like in the US, if you can’t afford it there are charities and begging is allowed.

  • Evil Otto

Evil Otto – I have not had to judge whether a baby’s congenial deformities are so severe as to discourage interventions – but they do have parents. I have known people who have let such babies die a natural death.

Starving to death or dying of dehydration is not a “natural” death, any more than putting a pillow over someone’s face and denying them oxygen is “natural.” Well, at least it’s over quickly in the case of the pillow. My solution is the simplest one… have the courage of your so-called convictions and make it quick. Bang. What’s the matter? Too messy?

I work with disabled children, many of whom have overcome tremendous odds. My best friend was born extremely premature, lost weight, went blind, and was not expected to live. When it became clear that she would, the doctors told her parents that she would be a vegetable. Instead, she went on to excel in school, was in the gifted program, graduated from college, and is a productive member of society. If she had been born in the modern UK there’s a very good chance she would have been killed… excuse me, “euthanized.” Ditto for many of my students. I have one student who has a story even worse than my best friend… born even more premature, with cocaine in her system, abandoned at the hospital, blinded, had a stroke while in the incubator… and turned out just fine.

If the doctors make mistakes (and they do, all the time), can they give that infant his or her life back? This isn’t a case where someone has lived a long life and wants to be allowed to die. They are STARVING infants, and you’re lecturing us about how natural death is.

Sometimes death is unavoidable, yes. In that case make it quick. Apparently that idea makes you uncomfortable.

However the 2 examples I gave are real people who could not live any longer -one because they could not eat /drink & the other because breast cancer had spread to the brain & it was shutting down .

Then put a bullet in them. Denying food and water is a sick and extended way to kill someone.

When the body can no longer support life – death comes.

When food and water is denied to anyone, death comes.

Of course people with healthy bodies who are dying -eg aneurisms /accidents are often organ donors. Life is artificially prolonged to enable organ harvest. Sombody has to make the decision & control the timing. Then they die.

You’re weaving all over the place here. I merely told you to show the courage of your convictions and end their lives quickly. You’ve convinced yourself that it’s “natural” to deny basic care to someone and let them die because of it.

But that would force you to confront your ideals in an ugly way…

As for an anmal – dogs will curl up & lie down to die. They will not ccept food or water for days either. We are not allowed to euthanize people but you are right we do not like dogs to suffer.

But you are calling for euthanizing people. Do you somehow think your hands are clean if you starve someone or deny them water?

    Your remedy is???

    I’ve already told you. Bang.

I hope it will impact some people to take action starting today – I know it impacted me. God bless us all.

And yet, when there is news that I want to know more about, I go to the DM. Why? Because they’re not biased hacks like every. single. US. Media. out there. Sure, they are biased but not AS much.

I’ve been reading their information on the Liverpool Care Pathway for about 5 years now. It’s one of those cost-saving measures put in place by their vaunted NHS. It’s a way to condone sending undesirables to death to save their precious money. It’s not a stretch to see it utilized in the care of newborns. All to save $$.

The DM may be a hack publication, but so is most of the news outlets today. It does not make the fact that this death panel is putting their talents to use in babies wrong. It’s understandable to sit in your pretty house thinking everything is unicorns and roses, but it’s not. The fact of the matter is, your government will start killing babies and elderly to save money. Your life and the life of your children have a price and the government is putting all of them on clearance.

Welcome to the world for which you voted. I’m going to spend the next 4 years saying “I told ya so, you greedy bastard.” every time one of these stories airs. Will it change anyone? No, but at least I’ll feel better marching to the gallows saying, “I told ya so.”

Our global and national society has jumped the shark, people.

We put down animals with sodium pentobarbital. That’s called ‘mercy’. Then, we are called cruel and inhumane when we let animals starve to death or die of thirst.

Then, we defend ourselves when we allow human beings to starve or die of thirst?

At least allow people the same ‘mercy’ that you’d give to a dumb animal. That would at least make some kind of sense.

The way we’re all going about everything, including our mercy or lack thereof, is the definition of insanity.

  • mamagriz1968

When I heard about the death panels in O-care, my first thought was for the premies because their care gets so astronomically expensive. I still have the itemized bill from my son who was born 10 weeks early 7 years ago. He was in the hospital 10 weeks for about $750,000. We were blessed to both be working and the insurance covered everything (with their markdowns). I kept thinking that if he were to be born under O-care, he would be put in a laundry hamper like the babies born alive after abortions, to just die already because his life wasn’t worth saving. Heck, remember Terry Schiavo was allowed to die a horrible, painful death even though her family would have taken care of her and the costs of her care, because of laws that wouldn’t allow it. I figured the Dems were going to solve the Social Security insolvency problem by killing off elderly and disabled people who get benefits. How do you deal with people who have no regard whatsoever for human life? It truly means nothing to them.

They refuse fluids and foods so the person just dies, instead of just giving them a lethal injection, because then they and others would think that they were actually killing a human being. Starving and dehydrating a person is just a slow form of murder. It is like torturing a person until they die – isn’t this just murder of a more horrendous fashion? These people are murderers plain and simple. They should be doing everything they can within their power to keep them alive and not in pain, but this concept is long gone. The very thought of a little baby suffering to this extent is just excruciatingly heartbreaking.

If Jack The Ripper were caught in today’s Britain, he would not be executed for humanitarian reasons. The British would consider it wrong and barbaric to hang him. Yet they have no problem with letting innocent babies and sick kids die slowly, painfully, and cruelly to save the NHS some money or to relieve parents the burden of a kid who might need a few surgeries or therapy in the coming years. The original article makes it clear that the doctors are telling the parents it’s best for the baby and are recommending unplugging them because they are dead already. If that was the case it would be over quickly. A baby that lingers for 10 days slowly dehydrating was strong enough to live, it just needed to be fed. This was done purely to get the babies who would have cost more off the system.

  • http://. WillofLa

And I just can’t wait for this sort of thing to start happening to every liberal who believed that America should have a healthcare system like Britain’s. I can’t wait for the parents and/or grand parents of every liberal who voted for Obama, and anyone else for that matter regardless of which party they belong to, to be told to go home and take a pain pill, “There is nothing we can do for them here.”

I can’t wait for the children, parents, and grand parents of every Black in this country to start dieing by Obama’s hand, and the hand of Kathlean Sibilious whose responsibility it will be to “determine” the best course of action in regards to what is financially feasable for (whoever, whatever) and the Black parents, children, grandchildren are told that there is no money to pay for what ails their loved one, and to take the pain pill and go home.

And don’t get me wrong, I don’t wish anything bad to happen to anyone. But when it may take death and suffering on our enemies to happen to them, then SO BE IT!!

I can’t wait for the consequences of the actions of liberals, leftists, Socialists, Communists, or New World Order advocates who believe that “the only solution to America’s problems is the government.”, like Obama said as soon as he took office in his first term.

These people actually believe that since none of anything particularly bad happened in Obama’s first term, means that he isn’t going to do anything bad to our country, or to our people. They believe that all we really needed to do was just give Obama a little more time and everything will begin to come together.

Yeah, it sure will, right around everyone’s heads!! Just wait until the tax for the rich comes right down around everyone’s head just like it always has. Just wait for all that free healthcare to come down right around all our heads just like anything the government fails at has done. Just wait for all these liberals to start crying, and whinning when it’s their turn to pay out the nose and pay the price for the cost of liberalism, and Socialism when it comes down right around their dumb, sick in the head, idiot, blind, heads. Then maybe we’ll see liberals do the right thing for a change and do a hell of alot more “giving in” than any Republican ever has!!

Snatch them in a van; Tell them you will start cutting digits, rubbing salt in, etc. every hour or so… until they take the gun and do themselves. Tell them you decide, not them, their family, spouses, children. If you knew how many I see disconnecting their elders for money, home, stock, revenge… This is an evil generation.

I learned a lot about people watching the Schiavo case. You might as well get rid of law, period… we no longer have what is called civilization.

If Abel’s blood cried out from the ground, what will millions of babies sound like?

Not to mention all the deaths.

They’re like Al Qaeda, always sending someone else to die, while preserving their sweet *sses.

    Everybody wants to play God.

    Lady Mondegreen,

I remember when I constantly screamed about the Groningen Protocol in the Netherlands.
    No one listened.

Maybe you should see how they didn’t believe it, what they did and the outcome.

    To Patty:

I’m right there with you. Some here take it as a joke. I’ve seen a lot of things I wouldn’t wish on my enemies.

Some of the same people who head this killing, fight to the death to reverse death penalties on cop, child killers, mass murderers.
