You just can’t make this stuff up.
MSNBC cranks bashed Mitt Romney today for collecting food and supplies for Hurricane Sandy victims.
No wonder nobody watches their shows.

NewsBusters reported:

After introducing his Obama-supporting guests Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Lehigh professor James Peterson, host Martin Bashir played a clip of the President speaking at the Red Cross headquarters in Washington Tuesday.

When the clip concluded, Bashir said, “Mayor Reed, so the Red Cross knows what it’s doing. Did he, did you detect perhaps a subtle dig there on Mr. Romney who spent today going against the guidelines established by the Red Cross and holding a campaign rally in Ohio that was dressed up like a charity drive collecting food and other supplies when the Red Cross expressly asked people not to do that?”

Imagine that. A presidential candidate who gives millions of dollars a year to charity does a storm relief event in Ohio, and an MSNBC anchor is disgusted by it because the Red Cross would prefer people donating cash.

  1. This crap from them should surprise nobody. I’d love to see mass demonstations at all the media headquaters putting them on notice.

  2. Did they miss the fact that he also told people not to donate to his campaign but instead to the Red Cross?

    Wow. They are UN. HINGED!

  3. RACISTS

  4. This is who Romney really is.

    He cares.

  5. Of COURSE the RedCross would prefer cash! Remember what they tried to do with the mountains of cash donated for the victims of 911? If O’Reilly hadn’t raised such a bloody fit that it cause an uproar and an investigation they would have kept about 95% of the money!

What about Katrina? Lots was donated for that, but nobody saw much in the way of what the RedX was doing with it. Most of the immediate relief in the way of things like food and water and diapers came from communities all over the country doing exactly what Mitt is doing here. We had trucks from this area leaving every 12 hours or so full of emergency supplies.

MSNBC is simply unhinged. Really, they should just surrender their license and leave the air.

Romney’s $2 Billion Sacrifice for America

[It’s an amazing statement, but it’s true.

If you watched the media, you would think Romney is a greedy elitist.
However, the three recent presidential debates showed the Republican
presidential candidate to be a man passionately concerned about the
future of America, and determined to do something about it.

But the true level of Romney’s passion about this country
are in the numbers — his personal financial numbers, that is.

A recent Forbes magazine article by Nathan Vardi headlined, “Mitt
Romney: The Most Expensive Political Career in American History.”

As Vardi observes, “Lots of people pay a high price for getting into
politics, but no one has likely given up more, at least financially,
    than Mitt Romney.”]

  8. Romney never said anything about giving these donations to the Red Cross. I imagine that some of those donations will stay in Ohio …

“CLEVELAND — High winds spinning off the edge of superstorm Sandy took a vicious swipe at northeast Ohio early Tuesday, uprooting trees, cutting power to hundreds of thousands, closing schools and flooding parts of major commuter arteries that run along Lake Erie.

At least 250,000 homes and businesses in Ohio — the majority in the Cleveland area — were still without power by early afternoon. Scattered outages reached down into central and eastern Ohio, with some in the southern part of the state. Utilities said it could be days before it’s fully restored.

Authorities were warning residents of the Cleveland area to stay home if possible because of the danger of downed trees and power lines from the early morning high winds, as well as debris in the road and flooded streets. A low-lying section of Interstate 90 east of downtown was shut down because waves from Lake Erie were washing over it. Howling winds along the lake peeled off part of the siding at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

Hundreds of schools were closed throughout northeast Ohio and the nasty conditions — including the season’s first snowfall in some parts of the state — led to late starts at schools in central and eastern Ohio. As in much of the storm-affected areas of the East, thousands of flights were canceled at Ohio airports.”

  10. Granny took the words out of my mouth when I heard the Red Cross prefers cash. Yea sure they do. I never give them cash. Only give cash to those you trust.

  13. ..If you don’t think MSNBC provides a product you want to invest in. Stop watching it. Forever. Spread the word.

  14. Another thing to note–Red Cross President and CEO Marsha J. Evans earns a salary of $951,957 plus expenses. Salvation Army head earns zero.

  15. TeachX3. I also prefer the Salvation Army.

    _______

Long ago and far away I was a young Army wife in Germany. The men in my husband’s unit were a special detail that were gone quite a bit so I, as the oldest and “highest ranking” of the enlisted wives, was “in charge” of getting all the wives together (some were barely 14) and evacuating them in case the Russians came pouring through the Fulda Gap.

One day I went in to pick up the mail and as I pulled up in front of the little PX the Red Cross guy comes up to me and starts telling me about one of “my girls” who he had just “had to turn away.” He had just informed her that both of her parents had died in a car crash back here in the States and the GALL of the private’s wife! She DARED to ask him to call her husband out on maneuvers and loan her enough money to go home to her parent’s funeral. (How DARE SHE!) Of course he couldn’t do that – she was only a private’s wife, they couldn’t pay it back and after all, there was nothing she could do. Her parents were dead. And it wasn’t the kind of emergency that would warrant disturbing her husband on maneuvers!

Well, I saw red. I marched over to Battalion, talked to the Top left in charge and in just about an hour we had her husband on a chopper out of the field, “my girl” packed, seats booked all the way home (and back) and plenty of money to get the two of them home and back for the funeral – not a dime of which they ever had to pay back.

From that day to this I have never given the RedCross a single RedCent nor a single drop of RedBlood and I will continue that policy until the day that I die.

The head of the American Red Cross on 911 made $450,000 a year – nearly $100,000 more than the President of the United States on that day. They do not pay a single DIME in taxes because of their “non profit” status. Today the head of the Red Cross makes over a half million a year.

  17. Imagine that. A presidential candidate who gives millions of dollars a year to charity does a storm relief event in Ohio, and an MSNBC anchor is disgusted by it because the Red Cross would prefer people donating cash.

Gosh, according to this liberal site, ARC keeps 70% of donations they receive.

SEVENTY PER CENT OF CASH DONATIONS by Americans for Hurricane Katrina victims went to the American Red Cross.

  18. The only reason MSNBC exist is that they are the propaganda arm of the DNC. Who cares what they blabbing about. They live and breath in an echo chamber.

  19. The Red Cross is not the only organization active in this relief effort. I’m surprised that Barack Obama doesn’t know this.
