Rep. Todd Akin and Claire McCaskill are in a statistical dead heat in Missouri. Akin leads among independent voters.
KMOV reported:
A new poll shows the Missouri Senate race is too close to predict a winner.
The News 4, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Kansas City Star poll shows Senator Claire McCaskill with a 2 percent lead over Congressman Todd Akin, at 45 and 43 percent, respectively…
A few interesting numbers from the poll:
- McCaskill leads Akin 53 percent to 35 percent among voters age 18-34.
- Akin leads McCaskill 42 percent to 36 percent among independents who have made up their minds.
- Akin’s comments on rape were rated “Very Important” or “Somewhat Important” by 53 percent of voters, and “Not Too Important” or “Not At All Important” by 44 percent of voters.
Mitt Romney leads Barack Obama 54 to 41 percent in the poll.

With the race this close, Missouri Republicans better get poll watchers into St. Louis and Kansas City polling places for they have a tendency to stay open late and install revolving doors for repeat voting. And look for signs of ACORN slithering around under a different name. Close races in Missouri are getting as predictable as Illinois with the Democrats ususally coming out on top.
You can never be too careful in a state that will elect a dead Democrat like Mel Carnahan.

RASMUSSEN: ROMNEY +4, +23 WITH INDEPENDENTS, D+4 SAMPLE.
Gallup says electorate is R+3.
Cari commented:
I can’t imagine that Romney leads by 13 in Missouri, and that enough voters would split their ticket to keep McCaskill in office. Especially after Missouri splapped down Obamacare last year. I pray Akin wins this!

No thanks to Jim Hoft, Danforth, Blunt, Romney, RNC and Talent. Akin could have been up by much more.
He has tire tracks on his back from the Hoft bus.
Lesson learned: Never give to the GOP. Give to conservative candidates directly.
Truth Teller commented:
Be a poll watcher at your polling place – don’t let the fat pig Claire try to forge a win for herself.
JoyO commented:
Pray that Akin wins. Look at his Conservative voting record. We must have a majority in the Senate or we will never be able to repeal Obamacare and we’ll be stuck with it until it finishes the Progressives goal of bankrupting our country.
Claire must go — she voted for Obamacare and for all of the other Progressive bills.

Here’s what claire McCaskill does when law abiding citizens exercise their right to Free Speech and right to assemble peacefully. We were peacefully protesting Claire McCaskill’s support of Obamacare outside her office. They called the police……..
Local Tea Party patriots held an anti-Obama Care protest at Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill’s district office in St. Louis. The protest was organized by Americans for Prosperity and the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition.

This somber video was taken after we respectfully complied and moved to the other side of the street. Kind of scary, isn’t it? We aren’t criminals…..

People are unbelieveable.
Akins comment was enough to sway them, but McCaskill’s political stance and questionable financial dealings aren’t?
WTH is wrong with Missourians?
WAKE UP MISSOURI!

I love that there are 3 pro Claire McCaskill ads on the Gateway Pundit website…lovely

McCaskill must go, period. Anyone is better than McCaskill.

Even if Akin wins, it may still be a tenuous situation for the GOP. He just doesn’t seem like someone you can trust to have learned his lesson. He exudes arrogance and entitlement. In other words, he is much more the typical politician and not only some principled conservative.
Everyone seems to think Akin made one simply misstatement. I think it was much more severe and a sign of what might come. A man who is supposed to be educated in science/engineering proved he was willing to read, ponder, and accept some utter nonsense about mind over womb just in order to score an ideological point. If he is willing to be a fool once…….

JohnInMA …
I am not trying to start a fight with you; however, your statement is ridiculous. Congressman Akin is an honorable man and has served his constituents in Missouri well. He has a lifetime 100% voting record rating with the ACU AND is a Tea Party favorite here in Missouri. As far as misstatements go, we all make them and dang it, he apologized. You can darn well bet you wouldn’t hear an apology out of Clair Bear over any misstatement. The lap dog media would cover her to ensure we the voting public, would blame Akin for anything attributed to Claire. As for the elite Republicans, they are truly showing their a** by not supporting Congressman Akin. Jealous much Repubs?
Congressman Akin won the primary and is our candidate and to be in a statistical dead heat with the incumbent Democrat candidate after everybody counted him out, just shows that he is a strong candidate, has values and a voting record Missourians have supported and can win that Senate seat. John, you are from Massachusetts, and I can understand your skepticism about Todd, but what you really should be worried about is if anybody votes for McCasskill and has been fooled once…..
Support Todd Akin!

@ Simsalabim
Stop blaming others for the braindead comments Akin made.
