14 Year-Old Peace Activist Malala Yousufzai Is Awake and Standing

Malala Yousufzai, the 14 year-old peace activist shot by the Taliban on her school bus, is out of her coma and standing.
The Taliban has reiterated their vow to kill her.
The Atlantic Wire reported:
Doctors in England who are treating 14-year-old Pakistani girl Malala Yousufazai says she is fully awake and is able to stand up and write, showing more encouraging signs of a full recovery. Hospital officials report that she knows where she is now and is also aware of how much interest people have taken in her story. The hospital medical director says he sees “no reason to believe” that she won’t recover quickly.
While she still can’t talk (she needed a tracheotomy to open her airway) and doctors say there may be some physical damage to the brain, she has “no deficit in terms of function.” Doctors will evnetually have to reconstruct part of her skull, possibly with a titanium plate. The path of the bullet appears to have caused an infection, which is slowing her recovery somewhat. It struck her above the left eyebrow and traveled down into her neck, grazing her brain, but just missing her spinal column.
The hospital where she is being treated, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, has set up a webpage for status updates on her condition. Visitors can also leave messages of support online as well.
Back in Pakistan, police there say they have identified the man they believe shot Malala and two other girls while on their way to school on October 9, but they are still searching for him and another accomplice.

Rasmussen has it tied again this morning. That may seem like a big deal after Romney being up 2 yesterday however all it takes is a fractional drop for Romney and fractional gain for Obama to create a 2 point swing.
As long as Rasmussen refuses to give any consideration at all the Republican enthusiasm advantages and uses a D +5 sample despite his own polling showing that is simply impossible his numbers will continue to lag Gallup who appears to be factoring enthusiasm into his likely voter model.
I believe that Rasmussen is bound and determined this cycle to shed the mantle of “Republican Pollster”. He has about two more weeks before he needs to move to a more realistic sample.

Rasmussen seems to be obsessed with telling us daily that NOTHING is changing in this race which clearly is not true. There is reason to believe his sampling is designed to reinforce that as he has moved from a D +3 sample to a D +5 sample AFTER Romney’s debate win. In other words, he is assuming Democrats have become MORE enthusiastic after the first debate and Republicans less.
That is illogical.
A D +5 turnout simply WILL NOT HAPPEN this cycle.

Meanwhile, Bill O’Reilly has a female guest on his show last night going on and on about Romney’s binder comment at the debate and saying she’s tired, as a woman, of being treated like a second class citizen. Why don’t we ask Malala how she feels about it?
As a woman, I am sick of these women whining about this mythical war that’s being waged on them. I doubt any of those ranting about this would have the courage to make a stand and pay the price for it like this young girl has.

Two people have been questioned by police after they turned up at a hospital wanting to see Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani schoolgirl shot by the Taliban because she campaigned for the right to be educated.

The hospital’s medical director, Dr Dave Rosser, said: “A number of people turned up claiming to be members of Malala’s family, which we don’t believe to be true.” He said those people had been arrested, but police issued a statement clarifying that no one had been detained.

I’ll bet they’ll just round up “the usual suspects”, put on a show trial, then convict and execute people that had nothing to do with the shooting. It will all pass, and life will continue on as usual, just like the operations and camps of the Taliban in Pakistani territory.

Who is her God – Allah? She is probably still a practicing muslim. Sure this is so terrible that this has happened to this girl, but why the world-wide news coverage at this time.
